I was going to post this in Retro but such an iconic album deserves it’s own thread *.*
It’s been 20 years since Mezzanine was unleashed unto us belting out the singles ‘Risingson’, ‘Teardrop’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Inertia Creeps’. Now it comes back to us again in a remastered format with some additional unheard remixes from the 1998 sessions! The album has stood the test of time over the years making several Greatest Albums of all Time lists for the likes of NME and Rolling Stone. It’s available on 2CD, download, 3LP coloured vinyl (with a book and exclusively designed images).  Disc 1 1. Angel 2. Risingson 3. Teardrop 4. Inertia Creeps 5. Exchange 6. Dissolved Girl 7. I love all the Massive Attack albums bar Heligoland which I just 'kinda like'
I don't feel intrigued by the remixes really (although I'm not ruling out listening to them) but Mezzanine is an incredible album. Dark and maybe slightly twisted even. Apart from the aforementioned singles, my fav tracks are 'Dissolved Girl', 'Black Milk' and 'Group Four'. Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins really gives some of these tracks a great quality with her ethereal voice! There isn't a track on this I don't like but I think 'Angel' is actually my least fav of the singles. |

Gah I genuinely think it should just be scrapped now. It was supposed to celebrate 20 years of the album and now seems a little unnecessary

So this has finally been released and looks set for a return to the Top 20 this week which is nice to see (currently at #13 in the mids)
