It's rare that a non-single will impact my chart to this extent; Kiss and Make Up has become the first non-single chart-topper since Anne-Marie's promotional single Then made #1 last December. It's the first pure album track to top my chart since January 2014, when Hunter Hayes debuted at #1 with More Than I Should - the first of five chart toppers he enjoyed. Of course, it's worth noting that Kiss and Make Up could be promoted to single status in the future. Kiss and Make Up is Dua's second #1 after Scared to Be Lonely in February 2017, and her ninth top 10 hit. It is the first chart appearance altogether for K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK. It's helped by a number of factors - hype for the new album Jubilee Road would be one. The album came out yesterday (Friday 26th) and debuts at #2 on my album chart already (expect a climb to #1 next week unless something drastic happens). Furthermore, I saw Tom live on Tuesday night. He performed the song with Rae Morris instead of Alice Merton but it still sounded great, and the rest of the show was brilliant too! As a result, the song matches the peak of If You Wanna Love Somebody (already spending more weeks in the top 10 though), and once again gives Alice Merton a new peak. Also climbing again this week are Alec Benjamin's Outrunning Karma, up 7-5 to become his second highest single after #1 hit Let Me Down Slowly earlier this year; as well as Joel Adams' Fake Friends, up 10-6.
