Five weeks into the year, into February and already we have our 5th #1, with it looking to turnover again this coming week too to one of three strong contenders. Gryffin gains a first chart topper this week with the follow-up to BJSC-winning Remember, You Remind Me featuring Stanaj. Little Mix's two prior week #1s remain in the top 5 and are joined by my BJSC potential Swimming Girls and a big surge for Khalid from last week's #40. Saturday Nights becomes his highest charter as lead for me. Kehlani and Lali with Pabllo Vittar also see meteoric rises this week.
Brand new entries this week by contrast come towards the bottom end of the chart, with this week's highest being punk-alt rock band The Maine at #26. We have a good diversity of genres this week with alt represented by LP, Frances, Vampire Weekend and Carmody, pop-midtempo by Troye, Bebe and Inna, and a slice of urban from Dreezy and Queen Key. A Britney song I've found new appreciation for after hearing it in a gym mix also debuts this week - from Britney Jean, of all her past work! It sounds well though.
