Not Radio 1 actually playlisting a Christmas song
 (well it's not but it kind of is in the last verse) If anyone could sway them into it, it had to be Sam Fender!Not many additions to get excited about, guess it's that time of year where releases are thin in the ground. Obviously they'll A-list Taylor next week, they wouldn't have known about it in time this week though I'm sure she'll get plenty of spot plays anyway. |

Good week for dance songs moving up the playlist! Also really like the Pa Salieu, 24k Goldn and Sam Fender songs. Very surprised they’ve playlisted a (sort of) Christmas song though - I wonder if it will survive on the playlist into January?
Poor Sunflower Bean though - when was the last time a song only got 1 week on the B List before being booted off? |

Great to see the theory that Radio 1 don't play Christmas songs has been thrown out of the water with the addition of Sam Fender, its clearly a seasonal song with the title and lyrics. As Mango said if anyone can Sam would.
Why not add it a couple of weeks ago though? Itll likely be C-C-C-OUT> |

Yeh they normally play the classics and then some newer ones which don't get playlisted. I mean they played The Killers 'Great Big Sled' back in 2009 or whenever it came out and Leona/Kelly in 2013 (Scott Mills obv loved them) ALOT but never playlisted them. Basically any playlisted songs newly added from the start of December are frigged in terms of plays as they have to make space for xmas songs as well so don't get the same support especially over Christmas week.

That Tom Everett song being a rare case of an Introducing playlist song going on to be added to the main playlist - surprising but it was a pretty good tune iirc.
A great week here for LOWES
