*NEW #1* - SZA “Good Days”

There is a new number one for 30 year-old Solána Rowe, aka SZA with the wonderful “Good Days”. The single rises 3-1 this week to depose Yves Tumor who had spent a month at the top with “Kerosene!”.

Six new songs break on to the chart this week, these are led by Shygirl and “Tasty” at 40. Also returning to the chart after achieving #1s are Lana Del Rey with “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” at 43 and Hatchie with RINSE (Joe Agius, formerly of the group) with “Back Into Your Arms” at 45. There are also chart debuts for Roxanne de Bastion at 48 (“Heavy Lifting”) and Ekkah at 50 ( “Wendy’s Yard”)

Thank you for reading. : )

Hello! hi.gif

Ooo Running Up That Hill getting THAT NEW PEAK *.* YAAAAAS. It's so good. I'm loving all these covers and samples that are flying around recently.
I'm hoping that Chemtrails Over the Country Club can really smash here. It's an amazing song with an amazing video.

Hey- thanks for posting, yes “Chemtrails ..” is growing on me more and more, the instrumentation is quite similar to that on NFR which I love - could see it being a big long running hit for sure.

Hi Dandy* - I'm really loving it too. 6Music have been playing it a lot and so the track has made its way into my affections, love the Northern Soul feel to it. Thanks for the comment. : )

Hey there Doctor B hi.gif heart.gif

Oh wow, we have a snap #1 this week *.* with a similar trajectory too as it hasn't stopped growing on me. One of those songs where every element is just untouchable - gorgeous vocals from her (and uncredited from Jacob Collier), poetic lyricism and lush production duties. Excited for more!

My favourite new entry is courtesy of Lana <3 I had high hopes for a new era after her NFR album was so good. While the lead single 'Let Me Love You Like A Woman' was pretty enough, this was more of what I was hoping for. Bring on the album! New Slayyyter is also very infectious.

Great chart happy.gif

That Gabriels track has had a similar run on my chart (currently #7) after I checked it out seeing it was your number one around Xmas time.

DB, sometimes our charts look very similar but I've not really taken to 6 of this current top 10, I felt the Burial, Jon and Kelly ones were both really weak for those artists involved. I'm beginning to love the Mogwai track and the Georgia cover is a great version.

Tasty is the new entry of yours I like - have added the two I don't know and a couple of others to my new songs playlist for the week!

Thank you Jade - I think we often are close to sharing #1s but this might be the first snap #1 for a while. Likewise, I am highly anticipating new material from SZA given the strength of this single.

I know you like your 90s dance BANGERS so I would heartily recommend Godford “Can't Get Over You” and Logic1000 “I Won't Forget” - the latter in particular is a bit of 90s throwback!

Hey Mark, thanks for the comment. Yeah I always check your chart out and we pretty much share most of the same tracks every week- I definitely think yours is the taste I am closest to on this site.
The Kelly Lee Owens track is one of my favourites from her album, but can understand it may not be to everyone's tastes - glad that you are enjoying the Mogwai track, I think it is their best in years!
