Unsure if a similar thread exists from the past, but interested to compare what official chart positions your entries have had before.

For my own sake, I will be using the official UK Top 75 chart positions taken from Polyhex to order my entries, but you can use another global chart if you wish.

Zanmatony have in fact only had two entries which have been official chart hits, both peaking inside the Top 40, and both incidentally from the year 2000;

05/02/2000 | Mint Royale Featuring Lauren Laverne – Don't Falter (BJSC 133) | 15 {15}-25-37-57->4
24/06/2000 | Amber – Sexual (BJSC 89) | 34 {34}-50->2

So it seems that, for Zanmatony, #15 is the highest charting peak to date. Both entries of course peaked well before they were entered into BJSC. Also, according to Wikipedia, Les Rhythmes Digitales managed a UK chart position of #80 with their single (Hey You) What’s That Sound in 1998. No other entries by Zanmatony have seemingly made any UK chart impact to date.

In terms of other global charts, Wikipedia again reports that Paradisio’s single Bailando, which was entered by Zanmatony in BJSC 97, and originally released in 1996, was a #1 single in Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway and Sweden. This suggests that this song is the most internationally successful to date in terms of chart impact.

Over to you. happy.gif

Cerrone's Supernature was a UK top 10, Sandra's Maria Magdalena a European monster, and of our DNQ's the biggest global hits include Major Tom, Sukiyaki, but then we often use chart-underperformers as entries. None of our "current" entries have been UK chart hits after-the-event, though, sadly - even though loads of them should have been! biggrin.gif

unless I'm forgetting something obvious I don't think ANY of my 97 main contest entries have charted in the UK top 75.

obviously a few have been in charts like Japan's and such, I'll have to see if I can collate those, that'd be quite interesting to look at.

A few of mine became hits quite a lot later, notably Pixie Lott’s Boys & Girls (reached No.1 a year after I sent it, albeit was remixed), Hozier’s Take Me To Church (peaked at No.2 about a year and a half after I sent it in autumn 2013), Freya Ridings’ Lost Without You (went top ten about six months after I sent it), and Walk The Moon’s Shut Up And Dance was a big top five hit the year after I sent it.

Also Sara Bareilles’ Love Song was a U.K. hit a few months after I won with that, Example’s Watch The Sun Come Up was a top 20 hit a few months later.

In terms of existing hits, one of my very early entries Glorious by Andreas Johnson was top five in 2000, Mindcircus by Way Out West I believe was a minor top 40 hit in 2002 and Highland by One More Time was a European hit in the early 90s.

I think my only entry that has troubled the U.K. top 40 chart was 90s dance song ‘Circles’ by Adam F, which made #20 in 1997.

I am yet to experience the feeling of an entry turning into a hit!

None of my entries have charted in the UK or become hits after I sent them, but globally the biggest entry I sent was Cómo Te Atreves by Colombian band Morat which had already been a number two smash in Spain!

It was not only a DNQ but it finished 27th of the 28 in its semi, becoming the fourth in a run of five consecutive DNQs.

I know Blonde and Sam Feldt both went top 10 - I actually think both peaked at #7. Other than that I don’t think anything has charted.

A lot of my artists have charted at one point or another in the UK, but only one of my actual entries has charted and that's Please Don't Go by Joel Adams, which had this incredible chart run:

87-59-54-56-52-53-50-52-51-53-58-60-62-65-66-63-65-65-67-74-75-x

Sadly in the days pre-ACR so if that rule existed sooner, it could've been a top 40 hit! sad.gif Oh well!

Conan Gray's Maniac was playlisted by Radio 1 (my first and only entry to feature on there... other than honorary entry Kisses for Breakfast by Melissa Steel which I confirmed and R1 playlisted during the confs period tearsmile.gif)

I was pretty convinced it was none, but I recall Jaimeson's Complete (after charting, before the rules changed to not allow for top 10s!) which reached #4! What a random entry that was looking back x

‘So There’ got to 67 in the UK but most of my entries would tend to chart in their home country. If that’s the case, ‘Stand By You’ got to #1 in Australia

had a quick look through wiki pages and got some (as Wiki is never going to be a complete source for things like this) peaks of my entries which have charted around the world (okay it is mostly Japan)

for those not familiar with the Japan charts, Oricon only counts physical sales and used to at least be the more important one, now it clearly only represents fanbase acts like idol groups, Hot 100 is clearly on the way up, and that is some weird methodology of lots of different things. Both I'd consider important charts though.

Alyssa Reid - The Game: #35 Canada
Ruby Frost - Water To Ice: #3 New Zealand
BABYMETAL - Megitsune: #7 JPN Oricon, #16 JPN Hot 100
charisma.com - Iinazuke Blue (イイナヅケブルー) - #66 JPN Hot 100
Chisu - Sabotage - #1 Finland
Stellar - Vibrato - #97 South Korea
Scandal - Stamp! - #5 JPN Oricon, #7 JPN Hot 100
Eir Aoi - Ignite - #9 JPN Oricon, #1 JPN Hot 100
Kalafina - to the beginning - #11 JPN Oricon
Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas - Let Me Hear - #3 JPN Oricon, #7 JPN Hot 100
Konomi Suzuki - Redo - #21 JPN Oricon
EGOIST - Eiyuu Unmei No Uta (英雄運命の歌) - #5 JPN Oricon, #7 JPN Hot 100
Yuka Iguchi - Platinum Disco - #18 JPN Oricon
UVERWorld - Touch Off - #3 JPN Oricon
Marnik - Up & Down - #27 Poland (only recent non-Japanese entry to chart anywhere that I can see, what a random little factoid for Wiki to note)
Eiko Shimamiya - Naraku No Hana (奈落の花) - #12 JPN Oricon
YUI - Again - #1 JPN Oricon, #1 JPN Hot 100

two Japan #1s, both from popular anime series so that tracks, didn't realise Chisu was a Finland #1. Most recent Japanese HIT then is apparently UVERWorld by entry ages (as the two after them are both 00s tracks) although I was totally going to enter YOASOBI if Leonardo hadn't beat me to it and that's the biggest song ever there so...

Way back when in the wild early days my first entry was a UK No.1 (Push The Button) and my 5th entry was a live version of a different UK No.1 (Hole In The Head). My second/most recent winner, Sofia by Alvaro Soler, was a huge pan-European hit before I sent it.

In terms of songs that went on to be hits, Please Don't Say You Love Me by Gabrielle Aplin went on to be a UK No.6 but by far the biggest post-contest smash was "I Don't Know" that was released by Lily Allen as "The Fear" and hit No.1 for 4 weeks

Idk about the UK but both I Hope (Gabby Barrett) and Trampoline (SHAED) went on to be massive hits in the US and both also received remixes from a hot male singer 🤭😍

Close (To The Edit) by the Art Of Noise got to number 8. The version I entered (Close Up) was a remix that bore little resemblance to the single.

Dr Mabuse by Propaganda got to number 27. I entered the 12 inch version (Das Testaments Des Mabuse).

One Night Stand by The Aloof reached number 30. I entered a remix (The Long Night And The Samba).

Silver Screen Shower Scene by Felix Da Housecat got to number 39 and Get Off Your High Horse by Rollo Goes Camping got to number 43 but I entered remixes of both of those.

So the highest charting song that I entered the single version of is Der Kommissar by After The Fire which reached number 47 (no.5 in the US)

The other three are:

63 - Swimming With Sharks - Careless Love
74 - Primitive Radio Gods - Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand
77 - The Delgados - No Danger (album version)
