Ed Sheeran is on course for a ninth week at #1 with Bad Habits, alongside a likely high debut for his new track Visiting Hours. A busy week includes a potential first top 40 hit for Clinton Kane with I Guess I’m In Love, and new singles from Skrillex/Justin Bieber/Don Toliver with Don’t Go, YUNGLBUD with fleabag, Shawn Mendes/Tainy’s Summer of Love and Tion Wayne/ArrDee’s Wid It

Will Olivia Rodrigo reclaim the #1 album thanks to Sour’s vinyl release? There’s new contenders from Lorde with her third record Solar Power and Jake Bugg looking for a second chart topper with Saturday Night Sunday Morning. Trippie Redd’s Trip At Knight is among the new releases including Villagers’ Fever Dreams, Deafheaven’s Infinite Granite, Orla Gartland’s Woman on the Internet and Vistas’ What Were You Hoping To Find?

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday: Some information may be posted on social media but it is likely to be missing most streaming data and is unrepresentative.
- Sunday: Official First Look Chart on Radio 1 from 6-7pm. Please do not post spoilers on the forum in advance as this ruins the countdown for any listeners.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 from 5:45pm
- Tuesday: Top 40 update as and when we receive them with requests, this is NOT 100% guaranteed however. The OCC may publish sales flashes of their own accord but likewise, this is not guaranteed. Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored. Any chart requests between No. 41 to 100 will not be answered after Monday's update.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

I'll be shocked if Olivia won't be number 1. She's doing 100k vinyls this week in the US. She must be doing 10k here, and with another 10k she's doing anyway... 20k must be enough for this week.

P. S
it's all sold out for weeks, her site, Amazon, hmv and all the indie stores.

Are we not expecting Jake Bugg or Lorde to shift those kind of numbers? I don't know what their previous albums opened with but surely they must both be in contention for number one?

I think Jake more, I can't see Lorde doing 20k.

Lorde's previous album did 17k first week, I'd be pleasantly surprised if this did any better than that to be honest (especially as it doesn't have a CD release, though it does have a vinyl). Jake Bugg only did 5.4k first week with his last album, he might beat that this time due to exploiting multi formatting and whatnot (I always find it impossible to predict which indie acts randomly manage to increase their sales from the previous era or not) but I find it very difficult to believe that he'd increase enough to be a challenge for #1. The album before that from him did do 16.1k first week though so that last album was a pretty dramatic dropoff, I guess it's possible it might be an outlier? But I'd hardly say this era has felt much more impactful than the last one really. Fully expecting Olivia to take the #1 this week in any case.

Maybe Lorde will have decent preorders due to the demand for her return even if the singles did flop!

Sadly I cannot see Lorde matching her previous albums, think it will be an easy #1 for Sour thanks to the vinyls with >20K, which is totally impossible for Lorde, the album is very divisive and Im sure many fans will pass... but I still hope she can do at least 10K...

here's what MW wrote when Melodrama was released:
Lorde was a few days short of her 17th birthday when her first album Pure Heroine debuted and peaked at No.4 (18,294 sales)hot on the heels of introductory single Royals topping the singles chart in November 2013. Now 20, the singer/songwriter from New Zealand recently had her biggest hit singles since that time when Green Light reached No.20 in April. It was the first single from her second album, Melodrama, which sold 17,026 copies last week, and debuts at No.5. Both Lorde albums have topped the chart in her home country, and Melodrama is on schedule to provide her first US No.1 album this weekend too.

The singles from this Jake Bugg album certainly seem to have been better received than his last one, but yeah if he only opened with 5.4k last time then there's no way on earth he'll be challenging for #1. I guess it's between Lorde and Olivia then, with Olivia being the more likely to emerge victorious.
