BuzzJack Legend Joined: 18 July 2012 Posts: 22,833 User: 17,376	29th August 2021 It's 2 weeks on top for You 14 weeks into its chart-run, with new top 10's for Keane, their 9th in 17 years; Aqua, finally getting a 2nd top 10 21 years since Cartoon Heroes; Elton John, replacing himself in the top 10 50 years since Your Song started the ball rolling; Dua Lipa (her 13th). Sigma, Tones & I, and Steps have big climbs in the 40, and highest new entry comes from ex-Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, as two new tracks from his forthcoming album both have the classic tuneful harmony guitar pop sound, giving him 40 years of solo success, or 44 years including the Mac. Liam Payne's back with a movie theme that's pretty good, at 38, and Billy Idol also returns hot on the heels of his Miley Cyrus feature, with the Chris Isaak-sounding Bitter Taste giving him at least 15 top 40's (but it'll be more) over 42 years including Generation X got banned from Top Of The Pops for ol Bill stripping down to leather undies. LP keeps the great run of singles going, Goodbye, and Tori Amos returns unexpectedly with a classic cover from the closing credits of Good Omens, a great series. She's covered A Nightingale Sang In Berkely Square, first performed by the mother of Jane Birkin in 1940, Judy Campbell, who is therefore also the grandmother of Charlotte Gainsbourg. It's a classy version, but tastefully faithful to the original style of covers like Vera Lynn and many others. Also new, Noel Gallagher's back, Becky Hill & Topic do a collab, Javiera Mena gets remixed for a 6th chart entry, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her The Feeling hubbie also collab from the stageshow Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Griff & Laura Mvula follow-up, Jake Shears ditto for a run of 17 years Scissor Sisters-including, and there's some very golden oldies in tribute to the late Don Everley & Charlie Watts, 2 veterans from my childhood passing away. 1 1 1 14 YOU - Since my chart is compiled using plays on my MP3, and YouTube anything could happen. Generally YouTube plays are removed after 6 weeks so I'd be shocked to see it do any better on my chart. I'm so happy to see Cold Heart enter the top 10 the fact that this isn't top 10 officially is criminal. Also am I the only one that feels like Elton is trying tomrestart his career? Looking at his discography you can see that every ten years or so, he starts doing features and then releases sacrficie to the chart and then starts releasing more music Psycho with a nice big fat climb it's great. The video is so good as well. Take Me For A Ride doing top 40 I'm shocked it's top 10 for me but I started with the original and after about 15 listeners I found that remix on my chart and now it's passed the original in listens and since they're the same song I've combined them. It's good but I'm removing it this week from my playlist. My Heart Goes is such a poor single choice to release the album off that I think she'd have been better leaving Remember as the last song before the album released. Now the song itself is decent but it's just so safe and there are far better tracks on the album. A big yay at Do The Television entering. It's fun. I've actually now removed it from my playlist but it should get another few weeks before it falls out my chart. Fantastic chart here this week John!

Glad you are using an mp3 - I dont count plays on mine, but my apple ipod still isn't full and it's on feed through my hifi as I type to random tracks from my chart Looks like Elton is priming his new collab album, I'm dying to know what the Glen Campbell track is and how old it is since he recorded it. Steps is still fresh to me, and Do The TV is still growing Cheers!

Glad you like the stuff at the top end of the chart, though I'm going to be a bit out of this months BJSC tracks as I've only heard a few snatches... Thanks for the very 80's youtube link, it's not one I remember, but it sounds VERY Eurodisco circa 1985/6 with a German-flavour to it Just wikipedia'd Mixed Emotions and yes indeed 1985 and German It's the sort of oompah oldies you might hear in the German bars in Gran Canaria. There's a LOT of German bars for the older folk in GC... cheers
