Booo. Discuss. Next year she'll tackle the US. So lets keep all US talk in here for the time being.
And ICFY isn't going to be the lead single. I bet it'll be HR.
~Jax~
Nov 4 2008, 09:59 PM
yeah I think it will be HR as well...but I don't see why they can't just leave the US out...it's worked for her for the past 8 years...why can't they just leave it at that

Well, I've just read on wikipedia ( I know it isn't a reliable source) that the lead single for the US will be 'I Call It Love'. I don't know if it's right, but if so I think It would be better than ICFY, but I don't know if it's the right decission.
~Jax~
Nov 5 2008, 03:18 PM
ICIL shoulda been the 1st single over here...but I don't know what would be the right single choice for America...cause America is kinda wierd when it comes to music...the people who can actually sing (Ana)

don't make it big in America...and the people who can't sing (Rihanna, Natasha Bedingfield etc)

are big in America!! It's crazy...
do u think Defeated would do well in America??
Frank!
Nov 5 2008, 03:24 PM
HR should lead there.
~Jax~
Nov 5 2008, 03:41 PM
yeah...we know that ICFY is deffo not gonna be the 1st single for America...it will probs be HR like u said...and then when that happens it will probs also get released over here

yup

aslong as she chooses the right singles tho

'Defeated' would be the best choice for America. It's a very obvious JR Rotem production and he's one of the few producers who can make a hit out of a pop song.
Failing that, 'I Call It Love'. Not anything else, and NOT HR!

I can guess certainly that the JR Rotem, Darkchild and Lester Mendez tracks will obv be single.
Defeated really is the best choice. Although I still don't think it's strong enough. If I'm Outta Love, One Day In Your Life, You'll Never Be Alone & Left Outside Alone never made it, then what chances will Defeated have.. Heavy Rotation will definitely be released over there. Although it will just be a 'what the f
uck?' release.
I Call It Love could be a possible single though. Produced by the heavyweights. I think imo that her company are relying on the names of producers involved rather than the song itself. (Hence we won't see songs like Same Song, All Fall Down, Never Gonna Love Again, etc. released- Guy Chambers productions).
~Jax~
Nov 6 2008, 11:09 PM
If that's what they're releasing the songs that they are then they should know that it never works doing it like that
Jark
Nov 6 2008, 11:48 PM
The thing is the Guy songs actually sound quite American-tailored anyway, especially NGLA and All Fall Down...
But with this era not being a huge success in Europe (or even close) they'll not be making videos for different markets. Whatever America's lead single is will be our third...

she should release AFD over here to make up for not releasing Rearview

she should do what some artists have done in the past and let US choose the next single

Updated with poll, "Choice for lead single in America?".
Josh
Nov 23 2008, 02:15 PM
I'd say Defeated.
Although the front-runners for lead single in the USA are most probably; Heavy Rotation, Defeated, I Call It Love & Naughty.
Jark

Voted Defeated.
When exactly will we know what they've chosen?

Voted Defeated.
When exactly will we know what they've chosen? Hopefully by the end of December, but they'll be to "busy" promoting AP.
They're not focusing anything on America till around February time next year, so most defiantly during January.
I have a feeling 'Heavy Rotation' will be the first single though.

It would gain some spins over there, BUT it's not the track for her.
If it was sung by Britney or Rihanna-= then it would be amazing.

well I wouldn't exactly say it would be amazing if it was sung by either of them
I like that we're gonna get it as a 3rd or 4th single...but as a 1st single for America...I dunnow...I think it has the potential to do well, just depends on if America "Get it" and finally accept her

Nov 23 2008, 03:10 PM
I'd go for Heavy Rotation.

Voted for HR.I think it's a good dance and it will make people crazy like Madonna make us singin her songs without even like them. And after that Defeated is a good choice. After Defeated every other song without AP,IS and NGLA are good choice

Well according to the poll, it should go;
1. Heavy Rotation
2. Defeated
3. I Call It Love
4. The Way I See It
That would be almost perfect!

true true
it is such a waste
it reminds me of kylie's X era, there was so many gems on that album like the one, stars and like a drug that would be classic kylie singles but got over looked or had a poor release- the one had no physical and the video was over a month too late to help it and it only charted at #36
