Instead of riding the wave of fame Kelly Clarkson defies the Hollywood trend and is the ultimate anti-popstar.
"I think I might be one of the only popstars not to deal with fame, I live in Texas," Kelly said.
"I'm not into high fashion that would be the worst day of my life having to sit at a fashion show, I'm not that girl."
Kelly Clarkson is the girl next door and seven years after she became an overnight pop sensation winning American Idol it appears fame just has not rubbed off.

She is a tiny Texan with a big rock voice but do not ask her to read a gossip magazine.
"There's either things that are just going to make you feel egotistical or there's going to be things that make you want to crawl up and die," she said.
"Neither of those are really promising for your character so I don't read them."
She still lives in the same area she grew up in. Her parents divorced when she was young.
"It was pretty difficult, we had financial problems, all our problems, were centred around that."
In high school, she found her voice.
"It was my thing, I was never a drinker at high school, I did nothing wrong, I was a good student except for my mouth," she said.
"I was a mouthy little girl but it helps me now with my singing and having an attitude."
She was just 19 when the first American Idol auditions rolled into town.
"Honestly we totally thought the show was going to be a flop, we no idea it was going anywhere, we were totally messing around."
Four albums later Kelly Clarkson is a star in her own right and in Australia to promote All I Ever Wanted.
She loves Australia and its musicians.
"I love the Veronicas, I've just picked them to open in the states for me," she said.
"I like AC/DC as well, their song is played on stage before I go on stage, since I started touring, Shook Me All Night Long, is my amped up song."
