Coco Sumner is the offspring of Sting and Trudie Styler ..... but let's not hold that against her.
This track has already been hand picked by Jo Whiley and Nick Grimshaw, joined the elite of the 6music playlist and picked by Soccer AM to soundtrack Premiership goals and most impressively she has become the third female offspring of a famous person to feature at #1 in Q Magazine's annual One's To Watch over the past five years (Whatever happened to Lily Allen & La Roux, eh!).
'Caesar' features a sublime guest appearance from Scandinavian goddess Robyn and will be released on download and Limited Edition 10" featuring a remix by the always excellent Miike Snow.
As for the track it is a delightfully cool indie pop record with reggae tinges (making the temptation to go "ee-eh-oh", like her old man playing air-bass guitar all the time enormous ) which make clear lyrical references to "blow", "talcum spilled on the table" and "hot rocks on the sofa" hint at a crack-pack lifestyle.
Purely judging the merit of this music (& other tracks on the internet) this is certainly not some rich girl's vanity project (coughs: Scarlett Johansson).
As for it's potential chart success who knows; in a month's time this could be heading for the Top 5 or sunk without trace like another track featuring vocals by Robyn "The Girl and The Robot".
8/10
