Already released as part of previous album 'Lost In Grey', Heidi Brown's track 'G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D.' recently came to my attention thanks to a national talent competition called UK Open Mic. Playing the song live in the final, Browne won over the (quite impressive list of) judges with her rendition of this lovely little ditty - being named the winner over 9,000 original contest entrants.

Excitingly, the single is now set for re-release as a stand alone song, with the backing of Future Music Management. With a bit of slick production, this is a tune that has the potential to become a breakout hit for Browne who, at 28, was close to giving up her ambitions of being a singer-songwriter. With a bit of luck, she'll never have to.
