Richard Rhys O'Brien: I Know A Little Place
Reviewed by Urbanfairy on 8 May 2014
I Know a Little Place is Richard Rhys O’Brien’s debut album now available online. Tackling contemporary subject areas such as consumerism and climate change this album has a lot to express and does it enchantingly with its upbeat, fun lyrical content and instrumentation. Tracks including ‘Audition Blues’ and ‘Silvery Moon’ are perfect examples of the blues and country influences that have had an impact on O’Brien throughout this albums creation. Other influences can be heard on tracks ‘Be like a Bird’ which exhibits his pianist talents and ‘No Truth No Lies’ of which both contain a classical element with a modern percussive twist. This makes for a truly eclectic sounding album reflecting modern life and love which is certainly worth a listen.
