Neil C Young’s latest EP is a groovy slice of jazz fusion sweetness. Jazz guitar virtuoso Young has already proved in is his previously released album ‘Encemble’ that he’s no stranger to experimentalism and has taken the same approach while recording his follow up release.
With influences that range from 60s funk to prog rock, the tracks are blending sultry cigarette smoke filled bar impressions with zesty night club thrills and crowded dancefloor ecstasy. All in all, it is an easily approachable record for music lovers of various genres. ‘Aguas Calientes’, ‘The Darned’ and ‘Hydrant’ are a quirky venture of modern jazz elements based on an open minded innovativeness.
