Born in Detroit, Michigan [the original music capital of the world], Charles “Gator” Moore and front man to the soulful male trio called “The Transitions” spearheaded by Michael Bivins of the famed group New Edition. The Transitions was first featured on the Essence Magazine first music CD entitled “The Love Songs” and their debut Lp “Back In Da Days” was largely produced by Kay Gee of Naughty By Nature. BET premiered the groups first video of the single entitled “Ghetto Laws” where Gator unveiled his acting skills opposite Charlie Murphy (from the movie Harlem Nights & also brother to actor Eddie Murphy).
Gator vocal talents caught the attention of Hollywood film makers where Gator appeared on: John Singleton's BABYBOY movie and soundtrack, singing his soulful sex ballad “Straight f***ing, as well as Tyler Perry's movie and soundtrack, where Gator performs the stunning retake of Sam Cooke's “Change is Gonna Come” in “Daddy's Little Girls”. Although Gator's hit songs made a good impact in the music industry, is group left the record label before he could take off and a lot of his fans who loved the music, had no idea exactly who he was. His sound was often mistaken for Tyrese.
After taking a hiatus from the music scene. Gator is back to take his place as one of the most soulful voice out of Detroit since Marvin Gaye. with his new feel good single "Makin' It Feel" from his upcoming solo debut EP project "Chapters To My Soul". Which is sure to be a staple to anyones playlist. It makes you want to dance and it just puts you in a good mood. Everyone should have this song!
