NuBorg: Sliding Off The Edge of the World
Reviewed by Urbanfairy on 1 May 2014
Norwegian songwriter Gunhild Nyborg is an artist on a roll. Her new album project, 'Sliding off the Edge of the World', sees her produce and release one song a month until the whole thing is available this August. Released on the 15th of each month, each single will come together to form the LP - a flowing diary of releases over the course of the year.

The latest single, released April 15th, was the title track to the album. Understated and gorgeous, it's a lush sounding blend of sharp, sparse lyricism and independently minded production.

It's worth saying that this won't be picked up and played by fans of upbeat pop. There's sadness in this song that lends to its beauty and makes it infectious without being 'catchy' - steely in its pace and contemplative in its form, this is stunning stuff. So stunning that it's made me use lots of posh, fancy words to try and describe how good it is. Check it for yourself on YouTube.
