It’s a common trait for independent artists to sell themselves as having a ‘unique’ sound. In the case of US songwriter Joe Rhinewine, that just might be true. With a rambling vocal style that’s half sung, half spoken, he spins humourous tales and thoughts on life’s twists and turns over a very well performed blues background.
The main fear here is that people might be so put off by his unusual delivery that they won’t stick around long enough to let his charms become apparent. But if they do that, they’ll be missing out – not least on some mighty fine guitar work.
