Eleanore & the Lost: The gift (Pt I)
Reviewed by Urbanfairy on 8 May 2014
Eleanore & the Lost’s new Album, The Gift (Pt 1), is due for release later this month and it has definitely been worth the wait. Filled with soothing, beautifully crafted melodies, this album is perfect for easy listening in the evening after a hard day’s work. The Gift (Pt 1) contains the bands first cover – Gershwin’s classic Summertime - with Fleetwood Mac inspired guitar riffs and exciting percussion, it showcases the groups creativity and ability to put their own unique stamp on well-known songs. Other artistic influences include Kate Bush and Jeff Buckley, whose impact shines through on tracks ‘My True Nature’ and ‘Leap of Faith’ respectively. Eleanore’s hauntingly beautiful vocals excel in the soulful ballad ‘Sorry, Child’, complement the piano and string sections perfectly creating a hair raising track.
This band has masses of potential and I look forward to hearing Part 2 later this year.
