Many people did not consider Jay-Z worthy of headlining the famous festival, but after the controversy Jay-Z delivered the best set of the weekend.
(BuzzJack.com) - The person who initially criticized Jay-Z’s spot was Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who said such things as "Hip-hop at Glastonbury is just wrong". Jay-Z had Gallagher’s message played just before he came on stage, once the message ended Jay-Z triumphantly walked onstage playing the famous Oasis song, ‘Wonderwall’.
Jay-Z then fired through his amazing set playing such hits as ’99 Problems’, ‘Big Pimpin’’ and ‘It’s a Hard Knock Life’. He also sampled Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’, previous performer, Amy Winehouse’s hit ‘rehab’ and classic AC/DC track ‘Back In black’.
Jay-Z did not have any guests on stage, even know rumors were that he would have special guests such as his wife, Beyonce and previous Jay-Z collaborators Linkin park. Jay-Z showed that he didn’t need any help in performing on of the festival’s best sets’s ever.
Meanwhile, The Verve closed the last night of Glastonbury, and Kings of Leon headlined the first night of the festival, with other successful performers being Amy Winehouse, Manu Chou, Mark Ronson and Vampire Weekend.
