Joanna Newsom 'Have One On Me' Details
The pressure of the new record has meant Newsom had to create the album art on paint, unfortunately.

In the last couple of days we have received more details on the upcoming third Joanna Newsom album, titled 'Have One On Me'. We've learnt that the record will include three cd's and we have learnt that the record will be released worldwide on the 23rd of February.

Newsom's label Drag City has put out a track for us all to listen to as well. Well they did, and then they took it down again. No doubt you can, however, listen to '81' on various blogs and sites around the internet.

No offence, but nobody really knows/cares about "irrelevant artist A", so is there really any point posting it on the front page, as in my opinion, this artist doesn't warrant such exposure. It makes Ryan posting irrelevant Leona Lewis news (which could've been posted in her forum) on the frontpage reasonable! laugh.gif :rolleyesL

Theo, she DOES have quite a big following on BJ, despite having a slightly odd sound. Calling her irrelevant on BJ is pretty ignorant tbh, let alone calling her irrelevant across the whole of the internet (dunno which you're referring to). I could say the same you said here about Vanessa Amorosi - i've never even heard of her, but i'm sure she's not irrelevant to most people.

An interesting debate here:

There are two issues and you are both correct:

1) Is she relevant to the internet? Definitely, she certainly means more worldwide than Cheryl Cole in music terms. Her last album Ys is rated 24th best album of the decade on Acclaimedmusic.net (the second highest female artist behind M.I.A. - Arular 23rd) made up of aggregate year end and decade end polls from music publications and websites.

2) Is she relevant to Buzzjack? Bar, literally a handful of us posters on the site I (sadly) doubt it. As she probably is as significant and critically acclaimed an artist as Sufjan Stevens; LCD Soundsystem & Wilco = worshipped on the likes of Pitchfork, but means little on this site.

OK guys lets go and ban all non-UK members of this forum, because we are a UK forum.

Does Cheryl Cole really need to be dragged into everything you write an essay about, Rich? rolleyes.gif

From a global perception Yes.

Cheryl Cole is without doubt the biggest UK female icon right now. Yet Girls Aloud sold little internationally outside of the UK & Ireland.

Certainly compared to UK girl groups The Pipettes & Client (who meant little in the UK) so it is relevant.
