Haiti single Everybody Hurts due out on 7 February
Everybody Hurts, Simon Cowell's all-star single (and cover of the 1993 REM classic) recorded which is being released to raise funds for earthquake-stricken Haiti (12th January), will be released on 7th February, as confirmed to BBC News tonight.
The song will be available for download on 7 February and on CD single the day after.
The final line-up of artists singing lead vocals has also been officially confirmed as (in alphabetical order):
Alexandra Burke, Cheryl Cole, James Blunt, James Morrison, JLS, Joe McElderry, Jon Bon Jovi, Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, Mika, Miley Cyrus, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Susan Boyle, Take That, Westlife
Half of the single's proceeds will go to the Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the remainder will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Simon Cowell, who organised the single on the request of the UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown & The Sun Newspaper, said it had been "an absolute priority for us all".
The majority of the recording took place in Trevor Horn's Sarm Studios: Studio 1. The same studio where the 1984 Band Aid single Do They Know It's Christmas was recorded.
Also the video was recorded alongside the recording of this charity single that is aiming to become one of the biggest selling singles of all time.
Furthermore, a performance of this charity single will now take centre stage at the BRIT music awards 30th anniversary ceremony on 16th February, after bosses reorganised the evening's line-up to clear a space for the song.
