Posted September 17, 200915 yr Take That have been nominated in the 'Best Live Act' category at this year's Q Awards. I'd post a link to the voting bit but little point as Take That won't win it anyway ... I think Muse usually win anything that Q nominates them for. Although I've just noted they're not in the 'best live act' category - I thought they'd toured? I suppose it leaves the door wide open for U2 then. Oh please ... anything but U2! Still ... its nice for Q to include TT in such good company. As TT won't win ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Coldplay. As long as U2 don't win! Other nominations are: Best New Act White Lies Friendly Fires Empire Of The Sun Passion Pit The Dead Weather Breakthrough Artist Florence and the Machine Lady GaGa La Roux Mr Hudson Pixie Lott Best Track Kasabian - 'Fire' Muse - 'Uprising' Arctic Monkeys - 'Crying Lightning' Dizzee Rascal - 'Bonkers' Noisettes - 'Never Forget You' Lily Allen - 'The Fear' Best Video The Dead Weather - 'Treat Me Like Your Mother' Dizzee Rascal - 'Holiday' Florence & The Machine - 'Drumming Song' Mika - 'We Are Golden' Lady GaGa - 'Just Dance' Best Live Act The Prodigy U2 Oasis Kasabian Arctic Monkeys Blur Take That Best Album Arctic Monkeys - Humbug U2 - No Line On The Horizon Florence and the Machine - Lungs The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum Best Act In The World Today Kings Of Leon Arctic Monkeys Oasis Coldplay Muse Norma Edited September 17, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers
September 17, 200915 yr They are so predictible with their nominations for Oasis and U2. They can release any weak material and still get the awards. I am a fan more of the old U2, this new album is weak, IMO....
September 17, 200915 yr Muse wil lwin this they always do but they are good live, it would be a lovely surprise if Take That managed to break the trend though wouldnt it
September 17, 200915 yr Author Muse wil lwin this they always do but they are good live, it would be a lovely surprise if Take That managed to break the trend though wouldnt it I heard Muse for the first time today! I've probably heard them before and not realised it. I really like their new single ... but ... and I don't mean this in a nasty way ... it has a very 'old-fashioned' 80's feeling to it. If I had been locked away for a few years and someone played me that song ... I'd swear it was Ultravox. Norma
September 18, 200915 yr Im a huge muse fan i must admot and their albums have always being consistantly good in my opinion, yes i agree the new single has an 80's feel to it and its a little different from previous offerings from them but i like it at the same time.
October 26, 200915 yr Muse won big, TT nothing, Arctic Monkeys bag the live act. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...t-Q-Awards.html TT should try to break America, perhaps they would have there more recognition

As far as trying to crack the States though ... you are joking! They can't even get a foothold in Europe! Norma
October 26, 200915 yr Sometimes is easier to get a foot in USA as in EU. Very smug the musical industry in old Europe - one you have a labell you have it for ever
October 26, 200915 yr Author Sometimes is easier to get a foot in USA as in EU. Very smug the musical industry in old Europe - one you have a labell you have it for ever  Mind you ... even Westlife have conquered Europe (well much more than Take That have!) Maybe the Europeans have got it right ... maybe Westlife are better than Take That! Edit - seriously when you look at Westlife's discographies/chart histories - they have actually sold a lot more than Take That! I mean ... I know Westlife are crap but you have to hand it to them ... when it comes to selling crap big time ... those boys do the business! They have actually had a few hits in the States (on various charts). Norma Edited October 26, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers
October 26, 200915 yr I must confess, before i got interested in the TT mark 2, i haven't heard about Westlife , so i don't know how successful they are in Germany or Romania :naughty: . I think Westlife is an innofensive vocal group and they should sell how much they want. But they don't put a mark on the music map and in 20 years time no one will know who they were...
