U2 are up for two awards - best Live Act and Best Album. Yep I know the Q Awards are an even bigger joke than the BRIT Awards and can't be taken seriously but we should help ensure U2 win Best Live Act. Afterall the 360 Tour is going to be the biggest tour in music history when completed, and as a show, it makes the others nominated utterly laughable in every way. It is totally in another league as a live show and they are in another league as a live band. I have seen 6 of the 7 bands nominated for best live act (obviously TT are not one of the 6  ), and as great as they all were, especially The Prodigy, Oasis and Kasabien at Slane this summer, U2 are the kings of live performing and if they do not win it will make the Q Awards an even bigger joke than they already are... if that is possible

The fact they are not nominated for Best Act in the world today is further proof that the Q Awards are not a serious award show. FFS, they are the biggest band on the planet. None of those other bands are in their league when it comes to selling out stadiums around the world. Coldplay only sold out 44 of the 77 dates on their current tour, despite most of the venues being under 20,000, whereas U2 made near $190 million from only 24 sold out dates in the worlds biggest stadiums. The album was critically acclaimed all around, getting 5 stars in the biggest music mags on both sides of the atlantic., such as Rolling Stone, Blender, Mojo, Uncut and Q. It is the biggest selling album released this year worldwide so there is no logic to it.

Well they get my vote  U2 have to be the best group I've ever seen live alongside my fav group Keane of course :P

I really hope U2 win best live act and best album, they certainly deserve to

I didn't know Coldplay did not sell out on their current tour, I'm off to see them at Wembley stadium tomorrow, it was a nightmare getting tickets for the London dates at the time as they sold out really quick here.

Having said that, given the choice, I'ld rather be going back to Wembley to see U2 again

Have a great time tomorrow Sparkle. I am not a fan myself, although have seen them live. They put on a good show, but I have seen dozens of better live bands. Yeah, they have no problem selling out Wembley, but elsewhere they stuggle, which is why they have not, as many claim, taken over from U2 as the biggest band in the world, because these days live performing is far more profitable than record sales, and U2 are still huge in both fronts. Coldplay played here in Dublin on Tuesday in Phoenix Park and failed to sell it out, despite only 40,000 tickets going on sale. Considering Robbie and The Chilli Peppers played to 140,000 each in 2003 and 2004, it shows two things. The touring industry has taken a big hit, and Coldplay are not as big as people think. There are loads of bands to sold more than 40,000 tickets in Ireland this summer so it is quite shocking really. :o

Do you have good seats?

ooooooooh I'ld never be one of those to claim that Coldplay are a bigger act than U2, especially as I know

how brilliant U2 are, like you say they are in a complete league of their own and not many come even close.

good seats, errrrrrrm depends how you look at it  at the front, side view, at the bottom of .........................................

up in the gods seats

Have a great time tomorrow Sparkle! :yahoo:
