My husband watched it - knowing absolutely nothing about Coldplay but afterwards he said he thinks they're really nice fellas and he wouldn't mind going to see them sometime! Now he tells me ... I could have got us tickets a few months back for Manchester but I thought I'd have no-one to go with! Norma

September 23, 200915 yr I saw that South Bank Special. A great show. I just wish Chris Martin was less (outwardly) modest, as I think it is one of the reasons that they are so (unfairly) disliked. Great to see the talent that is Gary Barlow enjoying the deserved acclaim and recognition that was unthinkable 5/6 years ago.

There is no false modesty or pretence about him (none of them actually). He is genuinely a nice guy ... but it seems in general ... nice guys tend to get ridiculed instead of respected. I actually think rather than trash a hotel room ... he and the others would hoover up before checking out! Norma
