Posted September 21, 200915 yr Although this is the mirror, I've a sneaky feeling the main gist of it is true! I wish I wasn't so psychic at times ... I said this the minute I knew Gary was organising it! Gary's actually going down in my estimation by the day! The bits I've emboldened are the bits that are either just plain lies or have been lazily stolen from other tabloid sh ite! Rob said the 'band' bit months and months ago ... and I think he meant Oasis or Westlife ... certainly not Take That! http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/0...15875-21688815/ HE snubbed their reunion and got left out in the cold – but now Robbie Williams and Take That plan to relight their fire, on stage. We can reveal that Gary Barlow has asked Robbie to perform his new single, Bodies, at next month’s Children In Need charity extravaganza at London’s Royal Albert Hall. And with Jason, Mark and Howard also lurking in the wings that night, surely they will all join for one little song? Robbie and Gary have been working together for months trying to concoct something special. And they figured that a Children In Need fundraiser was a fantastic reason to finally reunite. Robbie tells us: “Yes something is definitely going to happen. Me and Gary have been hanging out a lot lately, talking things over. “It’s been absolutely amazing. I’ve always wanted to be in a band ever since we split.” Robbie, 35, had considered rejoining Take That on stage while they were on tour. But he feared it might look as if he was trying to jump on their bandwagon. So this one-night-only special is ideal. Gary has rounded up some top British talent to perform at the event, including Chris Martin, Leona Lewis and Mika. When we asked Mika about Robbie rejoining the lads he said: “That’s what I hear. It would be great. I’m a real fan of Robbie and I really like his new single. “I’ll be performing a duet. I can’t say who with yet, there are going to be a lot of surprises. “Gary has done a fantastic job, it’s going to be an amazing night.” A pity it’s just one night and Robbie is not Back For Good… [Oh no it isn't ... once is one time too many - Norma] (edit - see later post - Rob not performing after all) Norma Edited October 17, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers

September 21, 200915 yr Author I don't want Robbie back in Take That, don't like him at all. then again if its only a one night thing... I suppose its better here than in a Take That concert! Get it out of the way just for a one-off and then everyone can stop asking either party about a bloody reunion. Anyway ... I should imagine tickets for this will be pretty hard to come by. I can just imagine the audience a load of stuck-up old farts with loadsamoney and no interest in music at all. Norma
September 21, 200915 yr LOL...just talk for good timing with this one off. Just before or when the single is released  , but it will make loads of money for the charity, so if they want the reunion they should do it. I hope they will sing a new song, as i am not very keen on the old ones of Robbie in TT (ok, one was quite ok, but i cannot remember now the name). But with this promotion, i fully expect now (i expected taht already, but now i am sure) that Robbie will get the No 1 and no chance that Alexandra /subo or Cheryl could steal it. Perhaps only Leona, but she s later, isn't it? If TT will launch also a new song with this occasion?

I did think Alexandra would get it but her promotion seems p iss poor and badly timed. I actually quite like her song now ... I thought it was a bit pants at first but lately I've been singing Mika's, Muse's and Alexandra's songs at the photocopier ... tossed in with a bit of Lady GaGa's Poker Face! Norma
September 21, 200915 yr LOL Norma...Sadly i don't care for 90% of the charts nowadays. I hoped i would like Mika songs (as i liked the other songs of him), i didn't :( . But coming back to Robbie, he is already nominated for VMA , so another good promotion for him, Alexandra is nothing compared. Despite people saying he is no 1 on airplay in Germany, i didn't heard it yet, probably they will play much more in the next weeks. Everybody loves someone coming back from a drug /depression / addiction problem, so Robbie fits perfect the pattern. Like Britney he got the top shows worldwide to promote . The only one, who might not succed is Witney...

I can't see the CIN gig doing much in the way of publicity for anyone ... it can be a bit of a hit and miss affair so I'm sure if an opportunity that Rob sees as 'better' comes along he'll back out of it! Fingers crossed! If he does do it though ... I hope he does just his own song and Take That do their thing and that they don't do anything together ... looking back at their old stuff ... they looked bloody daft as a five-piece! I think it could be bad, bad, bad ... for both acts! September 21, 200915 yr Well, i don't know. I kind of like the punk rock version of Back for Good Mark and Robbie did, but i hope if they sing something together is something new, and not a medley - i hate medleys.... But with Robbie promoting his own new song , this is no chance .

But with Robbie promoting his own new song , this is no chance . I have seen some of Rob's performances of BFG on youtube and I think the punk version is the best version that HE can do. When he tries to sing it straight ... he just can't hack it. Its a good job he has the enormous 'personality' to help him through because his voice is decidedly ropey to say the least! In fact, at times, he's bloody bad. Norma
September 21, 200915 yr I guess Robbie's audition to join the Sugababes 4.0 lineup failed: http://news.softpedia.com/images/news2/Guess-Who-Else-Likes-to-Dress-in-Drag-2.jpg All joking aside (if true), the only thing I can see working well with TT + Robbie would be a new song. But I'd put money on the CIN finale being Never Forget with Robbie doing his ad libs on the "We're Not Invincible" bits; with the rest of the acts performing on the night as part of the ensemble choir. But I think it would be better for both parties if they intend to reform to let Robbie promote his new album, then if they want to record together do so for a test the water single late 2010 before recording a new album together in 2011.
September 21, 200915 yr I have an audio version of mark and robbie doing a rock style version of back for good and i actually like and prefer it to the original(which i was never a huge fan of) its different and mark gives a great live vocal.

The only one, who might not succed is Witney... He is clearly no.1 in the airplay charts -my local station plays it at least four times ...and I only listen 4 hours a day. Looks like EMI is really scared that nobody knows that the album is out. They started to push the airplay 8 weeks before the first single & album news were out, so much more airplay....but then TT still gots a lot there aswell. And at the moment I would even say its to much, people could easly be fed up until the time the album is out??

Love the image I have in my head! Keisha is no match for Rodonna! I can't see them ever writing / recording together. That's why I'm glad in a small way that this CIN thing is happening ... as once they've been on stage together once ... then it can all be put to bed. It will have satisfied the 100 or so fans that want it. Norma Edit ... this may not be true anyway ... it is just the Mirror speculating. I don't think Rob is doing CIN after all! YIPPEE!!!! October 17, 200915 yr Author Muse now added to the line-up for the CIN concert. Looks like Rob may not be involved in this after all - probably too much european promotion on at the moment. Having said that ... not sure if Take That will be performing either given what has happened. Should still be a fantastic night though whether or not. http://www.nme.com/news/paul-mccartney/47875 Norma Edited October 17, 200915 yr by Norma_Snockers
October 17, 200915 yr I think they would. Till 12 november is still a lot of time and they are profi. I am sure if Gary won't feel like it Mark or Howard or Jason will sing something. But i am quite sure it will be Gary with either Greatest Day or Rule the world. Singstar got delayed, but that would have been next week.
October 17, 200915 yr Author A little more on this. I hope Leona is up to it too given what happened the other day. http://londonist.com/2009/10/ticket_alert_..._need_rocks.php Norma
October 17, 200915 yr A great line up ! I wonder if Shirley Bassey and Katheine Jenkins will both sing Gary's song.
October 17, 200915 yr Author A great line up ! I wonder if Shirley Bassey and Katheine Jenkins will both sing Gary's song. I doubt it - and I'd be disappointed if they did - I really am NOT a fan of songs that Gary writes for others - I think some of them are awful. The only exceptions for me have been a Delta Goodrem song and one Blue song. He also wrote one really lovely semi-classical piece for Katherine Jenkins - but apart from that I don't like many of them. Even the most recent song for Alesha - I'd give it 6/10 which is more than the 2/10 I'd give for the John Barrowman song. I should imagine all acts will be singing their best known song. For Shirley that will be either Goldfinger or Something. Katherine will sing some well-known classical piece. Norma
October 17, 200915 yr I think Shirley will sing something from her new album. It had a lot of publicity because of Gary's song, so i expect she will sing it. I love from all songs Gary wrote for other that parody song for Peter Kay. I don't hear it too much as after that i have one day long only "over and over and over again"

I think the artists should be singing familiar stuff ... and not use the concert to 'test ground' their new stuff. IF Bassey does do a song from her new album (which I doubt) it will be the John Barry/Don Black track 'Our Time Is Now' which will be the single from the album. To be honest ... I'd be very disappointed if artists performed new stuff. Norma
