Posted September 22, 200915 yr http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...e-Williams.html TAKE THAT and their former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS have been getting on famously recently. But that could all change this Christmas - when they go head to head in the album charts. Rob drops his collection Reality Killed The Video Star on November 9, then GARY BARLOW's gang issue live CD The Greatest Day just three weeks later. The two discs could end up battling it out for the Christmas No1 slot. Hmmm, since when a LIVE album, which is only for fans, could beat a studio one, which is massively awaited? Damn, Sun, gratulation! So, if TT will fail to be a top 10 album, which i expect actually, it will be branded as flop and compared with the greateness of Robbie . As if Robbie would have need that and has not already all in his bag -_- ..... I am tired for all robbie - tt. Can the people not be happy for having both and the juornalist get over to something else? It starts to be a joke! And if they continue, TT will fall , as is clear Robbie has the greater success.... Edited September 22, 200915 yr by IrisAlbastru

So, if TT will fail to be a top 10 album, which i expect actually, it will be branded as flop and compared with the greateness of Robbie . As if Robbie would have need that and has not already all in his bag -_- ..... They're also forgetting that the Live album will be for a very short limited time also. For a live album ... if it achieves over 250,000 copies I'll be pleased. I shouldn't worry though, Pete tells me live albums seldom do rip-roaring trade ... although I have a feeling Take That's will probably get greater sales than any other live albums in recent years. I'm not too bothered now with all the comparisons people make between them ... As long as I know that Take That are a better act (and Gary & Mark are certainly better musicians) then what other people think is unimportant to me. I do honestly believe that Take That won't be doing anything now for a long, long time ... they've nothing to prove. Because of this I still think this could actually the the end. On a chart-battle front .... Rob has got more competition to be scared of than Take That! Although his album will definitely reach number 1 with ease ... the minute Leona's album comes out ... it'll be shifted quick time. I'm pretty sure Susan Boyle and Alexandra Burke could see him knocked out of the top three after a week or so. Plus ... there are loads of other artists out there too who are, if not better, than at least more 'chartable' than either Rob or Take That. I do wish though ... that Polydor had have put a fraction of the effort into promoting The Circus and the ensuing singles (particularly UAN) that EMI are putting into Rob's promotion for this album. September 22, 200915 yr Take That have indeed nothing to prove and this upcoming live album should not be compared to a brand new comeback studio album its like 2 very opposites, so the take that album is nothing for robbie, robbie im sure and all his team are hoping to get best selling album of the year as they would expect huge sales for his comeback, but i dont think it will happen, as i think leona lewis, susan boyle and kings of leon will all be ahead of him on the year end chart. The take that live album will probably sell 300,000 at the absolute maximum which i would be over the moon with as live album in general do not sell great, robbie, bon jovi and red hit chilli peppers are the 3 main live album that come to mind that have sold well. Kylie for example when she released her live album sold 100,000.

I think to be honest ... they're just doing it for the fans anyway ... they know it won't sell a shedload ... but they know its what nearly every fan has said they want more than anything. I would have thought Kylie's live album sold more than that though ... are you sure it only sold 100K? Norma
September 22, 200915 yr Author If they don't have any new songs on it, i don't think it will cross the 100000 mark. This comes the same time with the DVD, and let be honest, the people will buy the DVD ...I see it only for the die hard fans, really... But nice nonetheless that they do it
September 22, 200915 yr Live albums have been dying out since the VCR became an affordable commercial product in the early 1980s. Surely it is going to be a DVD/CD that you can play on your computer/hifi/in your car as audio only if you wished.

Surely it is going to be a DVD/CD that you can play on your computer/hifi/in your car as audio only if you wished. To be honest! I'm actually confused as to why they're doing this. It seems to be a bit of a money-losing enterprise - as Iris says ... it could probably sell 100,000 max - although I was hoping for a figure of 250,000 - which upon reflection seems a little unreasonable. I think it would have been better to have put the cd in with the dvd package and had a triple dvd/cd set. The concert dvd, a dvd of the Abbey Road studio thing, and the 'live' cd - with a whole package of a retail price of £19.99. They sort of did it with the Ultimate Tour where there were five live songs on a cd ... I think they should have gone along the same lines. Still ... we'll see what transpires. September 22, 200915 yr In relation to the kylie live album Norma im positove its sales are in or around 100,000, they certainlt arent much more but thats better than i thought it would have done and it reached number 7 in the Uk. Im such a huge fan of live albums and being honest i really am not pushed how the take that album performs,of course i would love to see it do so well but i have been praying for a live album from them for so long now so im just delighted to be getting it. Personnaly im glad it not part of the dvd as if it had the track listing would have been far shorter but i hate when cd;s dont have their own serperate personel case( its a tiny thing that irratates the hell out of me!)
