October 19, 200915 yr MF tickets were put on sale this morning and have sold out already!!! won't be going there again then :snif: I can't rely on bankers in Stockholm having spare tickets to the final again, lightning doesn't strike twice :heehee: I got tickets first try this time I'm sitting on the front row of the balcony (again) but closer to the stage this time, so I'll probably have a bit of a side on view. I'm a bit concerned though, because while it's very clear from the tickets that my other half and I have seats next to each other, there may be an isle between us!! I also got dress rehearsal tickets, and will be uber close to the stage (6th row) for that :w00t: The only concern I have now is accomodation. From looking at various websites and talking to a couple of Swedish friends, I've figured that I got incredibly lucky with the hotel we stayed in last year, as I can't find any rooms there for anything less than twice what I paid last year. Considering I'm going for 4 nights this year instead of two, sadly the hotel adjacent to the arena isn't an option, and I'm having trouble finding cheap accomodation that's handy to the arena and the city centre. If anybody finds anything let me know!!

If anybody finds anything let me know!! sounds great, be good if you're next to each other  I noticed the hotels were ridiculously expensive this year when I was browsing a couple of weeks ago, there's no way I'd be able to afford to go anyway at those prices...seeing as I managed to blow near enough £400 in less than three days, I can't justify spending out what could be £600-700 to go again...plus the minor fact that I'm hoping to do a course between February and June and there's no way I'd be able to go, in fact I probably won't be able to go to Oslo either :snif: as for your other problem, the only thing I would consider doing in that case is staying in a hostel, but obviously it's hardly ideal if you're going with your other half...
October 20, 200915 yr Rich, do you remember in the days leading up to, and on the day of the final, there were acts performing in the shopping mall next to the Globen arena? Remember being very annoyed at missing Maria and Anna Sahlene? Can you remember where or how we found that information (albeit all too late)?

I do remember we missed Maria and Anna :( didn't we find out in the hotel or something on that internet terminal when I was looking up the information about music shops in the area? I think it may have been on the Globen shopping centre website come to think of it not that the mall schlager karaoke wasn't a treat of course
October 20, 200915 yr Author changed my plans, course doesn't start until September :cheer: Eurovision is very much back in mind!

October 21, 200915 yr Haven't dropped in for a while, but it's still playing in the front of my mind, too. Just need a *real* job to make it totally viable, though! Btw, Tom - when do you move?
October 21, 200915 yr Early December is the best guess, buyer wants in by Christmas. Got official confirmation of the buy yesterday by the way, removal men coming to give us a quote on Friday :cheer:
October 21, 200915 yr Author Gutted that you've found out a day too late to go to MelFest? I'm sure I'll find a way to go to both, determination is the key :heehee:
October 21, 200915 yr I'm sure I'll find a way to go to both, determination is the key :heehee: I hope you manage I've got my accomodation all booked for a very reasonable £35 per night including breakfast. Apparently it's very nice for the price and is more of a studio than a hotel room. Really looking forward to it now!!

Really looking forward to it now!! that's very good, how near is it to Globen? :o what website did you use out of interest, Late Rooms, lastminute.com and Hotel.com are the three I usually use, but none are coming up with particularly good offers at the moment
October 21, 200915 yr If I wanted to go to Globen, I think I would take the train there, and take the night train home again the same day lol
October 21, 200915 yr How easy is it to get ESC tickets, normally? And would I be able to join OGAE UK? I hear they get cheaper tickets  Might go in a few years...when a cheap city is hosting :winner:
October 21, 200915 yr It's easy to join OGAE, I nearly did it last year, but I didn't end up going anywhere anyway... basically you subscribe to Vision magazine at http://www.uk.ogae.net/ and you are automatically in... It does get you in slightly cheaper to some Eurovision parties too :)
October 21, 200915 yr Author ok, I'm going to the dress rehearsal on the Friday night, will be in the sixth row back by the looks of it, unless I've misunderstood something :o was considering going to the Saturday afternoon dress rehearsal like last time but figured that this way I won't miss any shopping mall live performances clashing with it on the Saturday :heehee: I don't expect I'll be able to go to the final, unless another miracle happens a la 2009, but sixth row back will be cool anyway!
October 21, 200915 yr Author oh, and if I can't get ESC tickets, I'll be definitely trying to get dress rehearsal ones! and if I'm at work when they come out, I'll be begging someone on here to get one for me and I'll pay them back :kink: Oslo 2010 is not something I plan to miss!

I hear they get cheaper tickets  Might go in a few years...when a cheap city is hosting :winner: I've just read that ESC tickets go on sale on March 16th which is a Tuesday at 12pm CET, if you can't get tickets for the final, you'll be bound to get some for a dress rehearsal at least
October 21, 200915 yr I really don't think I'll be able to do MF cos of money :( But I am 110% determined for Oslo *puts March 16 in diary*
October 21, 200915 yr Author I have enough savings to go to both, it's what I've been saving for to be honest :kink: it's all part of my '2010's going to be incredible' plan :cheer:
