Britney Spears is to issue a compilation of all her single releases, it has been announced.

 

The US pop icon's 29 chart tracks will be brought together along with a new song, called "3", in two separate packages.

 

A deluxe fan box set will feature all the hits, plus a DVD spanning all the star's videos in chronological order, original artwork, b-sides and remixes.

 

Meanwhile, a standard version will include 17 tracks plus the unreleased number, which comes out at a single on November 16.

 

"Britney Spears: The Singles Collection" is due for release on November 23.

I will remember her for 'Baby One More Time' and maybe 'Oops' but that is all. Britney Spears retire now please, and spare us all from another album of 'music for strip clubs' please.. :)

I think the 17 tracks thing sounds like a rubbish idea, didn't her last Greatest Hits have more tracks?! Wont be buying that one.

 

I might consider the 29 singles thing, though I'm guessing it'll cost more than I'm willing to pay.

sorry but i think the best songs Britney has ever released were after 2001... 'Toxic','Me against the music', 'I'm a slave for you', 'Boys','Gimme More', 'Break the ice' and 'If you seek Amy' to name but a few :dance: .... actually 'Baby one more time' and 'Oops' were 2 of the cheesiest most awful songs she has ever released, even Miley Cyrus would find them too cheesy for her own taste ^_^ ..

I have found her last two albums extremely disappointing. It still baffles me why they are praised as pop masterpieces when her earlier contributions were far better. Don't get me wrong. She's had one or two brilliant singles since her 'return'. 'Piece Of Me' is definitely up there with her best.

 

I shall buy this anyway and I think it will have a good peak and moderate success in the UK along the lines of 'Blackout' & 'Circus' maybe more.

'Boys' and 'Break The Ice' are two of her absolute worst. I agree stuff like 'Toxic' and 'Gimme More' are total pop masterpieces and classics though.

 

As for this new GH, utterly pointless and shouldn't be happening for at least another two albums worth of singles. Probably a moderate selling #4 album I'd guess.

you need 3 studio albums as a bare minimum between albums IMO (usually that means 9 hit singles to choose from)

Yep it's way too early to be releasing another GH so personally I'm not very excited for this release, but a new Britney single is always a good thing I suppose lol.

ISTM that most people will ignore the album, insteady cherry-picking any new songs it includes.

 

This album is to celebrate 10 years in the music industry, not to celebrate how successful she's been, just like the last one was 5 years in the music industry
