Norway only got it half right. KOK directly through to the final? Right, that's probably one national final I won't be watching. Glad Maria & Bjorn got through, but I'd have liked to see Elisabeth get through.

Nina got through in Finland. At least the Finnish have some sense :D

The Icelandic selection starts tonight at 9:10pm CET. You can watch online here: Iceland Webstream

Also, the Swiss entry will be presented tonight.

In other news, Norwegian press reports that tickets will go on sale on March 16th at 12pm CET.

The Swedish broadcaster is also said to be wanting Helena Paparizou for MF 2011.

Macedonian semis on 18th and 19th of February! final on 20th February!

looks like Elena Risteska (2006) and Martin Vucic (2005) are returning.

So Icelandic semi is going to be right in two hours. This time i will be watching :heehee:

might as well watch this, got nothing else to do :P wow that audience seems WILD :heehee:
there is absolutely no atmosphere in this show, it's so quiet and reserved, no backing music or drama like MF and to a lesser extent MGP :heehee:
Birgir - The One - nice song, a grower but incredibly dated sounding - she has a nice voice and tone in the verses but it's a bit OTT in the choruses - I don't think Iceland should send another similar female ballad again to be honest - this girl is more powerful than Yohanna but that's not necessarily a good thing...the song's a bit 'ESC ballad by numbers', the sort of thing Poland usually flop with but nice enough - 8/10
Matti Matt - Out of sight - worse than last time - I would absolutely hate to see Iceland send this, it would most definitely DNQ because it is so absolutely awful and has no appeal whatsoever :/ like I said, it's like Bon Jovi's ugly Icelandic brother sings Cotton Eye Joe  terrible, worse than Keep of Kalessin. 0/10

'The One' was great! :D A bit too 'Is It True'-eque so i think this won't make it.

'Out Of Sight' was boring. :(

I feel stupid not knowing what they are talking about. :drama:

Sjonni Brink - You knocked upon my door - boring, X Factor winner type song with a melody reminiscent of GaGa's Speechless in the chorus - although this doesn't make it good sadly - I have a horrible feeling this song will go through to the final though...very dated again :( 5/10

3rd song - Boring as f***. Was half asleep during. So dated and bland. Ew. Go away plz.

I have a feeling they get random guys from the street in the audience.

OK my fave is going to be here in a minute. YEAHH :w00t:

these presenters are awful, reminds me of a low budget late night quiz channel hosted by two giggling friends who have stumbled into the stuido...

Haraldur - You Are The One - she has a very nice voice, and is very pretty...quite a dramatic song, sounds quite contemporary unlike the other dated ballads here...quirky girl, she'd go straight to the top of the BBC hype list - this girl should be singing indie not pop ballads :heehee: she should be the next Emiliana Torrini/Hafdis Huld :P - massive grower, I like it a lot more than the first time I heard it - 9/10

You Are The One - do you know what this reminded me of? My lovely Caroline Af Ugglas (I have even watched her performance today earlier  ). Of course a more shy version of her and the singer has so much to learn from her! But overall she's too quirky, always popping up and down (LOL), crazy-killer smiling etc. Vocally not great at all, but the voice itself is amazing!

why do they put the names of the songwriters but not the artists up :( I'm getting confused...anyway;

Karen Pálsdóttir - In the future - on paper this seems like it should be my favourite but some of her vocals, particularly her screeching bit before the chorus were TERRIBLE - this would sink without trace, leave this sort of music to Armenia/Greece - they do it a lot better - catchy song though - 7/10

Oh My dear GOD! This was more than just cringeworthy. Terrible, hideous. :/ Screaming ain't showing that you hit the big note LMAO! Love the studio version though.

but did you ever personally see her perform live :kink:

anyways, my ranking and pop bars;

llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll You Are The One

llllllllllllllllllllll The One

lllllllllllllll In The Future

lll You Knocked On My Door

Out Of Sight

Kolbrún Eva Viktorsdóttir FOR THE WIN! I am expecting The One and You Knocked On My Door to go through though - Out of Sight surely has no chance at all, In The Future is probably the sort of song that will finish 4th...

she failed to hit the money note :( flop written all over it - terrible performance

ooh Icelandic advertisements - what a treat!

I noticed that too, i remembered that it was Iris Holm - the singer of the first song - so i guessed it right away :o

Anyway, the atmosphere there is like they're having funerals. Actually no, it'd be much funnier on funeral.

I hope the mini Caroline gets through

I always wondered why Icelandic people are so good in speaking english in songs. Because they have their own 'th' which is probably the main problem with pronounciation :heehee:

no expense has been spared on the budget, I spent more on my bus fare than Iceland spent on this production  it's one of the cheapest things I've ever seen, even cheaper looking than the Maltese semis :heehee:
