I guess it gets smaller to the final thou :P

Do you have anything particular against poor Finland and Iceland or it is just irrational moment of stubbornness?

No I love both countries

I have just learned that Norway, Sweden and Denmark is Scandinavia ;P

In Scandinavia we call Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Faroes Islands for "Norden"

or in English "The North"

I know I'm over-reacting a bit

But I'm jealous 'cause I don't use Spotify anymore

I really need to download Yes Man, Rocketfuel & Jealous Cause I Love You

You mean that i have it on 2/10? Maybe all the worst songs have 1/10 from me :P

Surely the worst song ever would have a 0/10 by default?

Jealous 'Cause I Love You is easily my favourite Norwegian song of the first 14 - can't believe it didn't go straight to the final - pure pop songs always seem to struggle in these types of things against the 'more unique sounds' which is fine, I'm all for originality, except if they're awful (a la Matti Matt - Out Of Sight in Iceland's final) but Venke's song is an EXCELLENT pop song which should have eased to the final...

I add 1 for time wasted on making the song

Semi 3. Iceland.

Hera Björk - Epic thing. Written just for ESC - 9/10

Sjonni Brink - Borefest, but bearable. Quite catchy even at times - 7/10

Steinarr Logi Nesheim - As a 'music' person, not a 'lyric' one, i MUST say that this is EPIC musically. Singer's voice is alright, a little bit letting down the whole thing tho. 8.5/10

Arnar Jónsson - Boring boring boring. 5.5/10

Anna Hlín - This was so painful to listen to. Contender for the worst song ever. 2/10

Hera ftw then.

listening to them now - have quoted your post to see how they compare;

Hera Björk - very Kate Ryan meets Charlotte Perrelli! the sort of thing I'd expect Sweden to send :P I love her voice and liked her song from the Danish selection last year too! this is very good but would probably flop at ESC knowing how well this type of music does these days. Still, it's great. 9/10

Sjonni Brink - hmm...starts off sounding like music out of the game Banjo-Kazooie :heehee: melody wise, the bridge reminds me of Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, I almost expect him to launch into the chorus of that  nice enough song, it's like the soundtrack to the life of a farmer or something...7/10

Steinarr Logi Nesheim - it's ok, his voice isn't really that great...sounds a bit like Robbie Williams' Feel in places...won't rush back to listen to this. 6/10

Arnar Jónsson - a bit bland but listenable, wouldn't like to see this representing Iceland to be honest 5/10

Anna Hlín - sounds like lift muzak mixed with a jazz singer doing a Christmas song - not the worst song ever but very uneventful and unmemorable - reminds me of the bland 2008 Moldovan entry. It's just finished and I've forgotten it already. 4/10

:cheer: The first two scores are identical!

The quality of songs go down depending on the performance number i suppose :kink:

well we are apparently twins so it was inevitable! although our music tastes couldn't usually be more different - I'm very surprised you love this generic schlager thing from Hera so much in fact

Svante has confirmed some things for us. He said the votes of the non-qualifiers will certainly NOT be confirmed into one big super-vote :cheer: Tickets have been confirmed as going on sale on February 8th, and rehearsal time won't be reduced this year. He didn't really want to comment on whether Russia now pay more than Spain and will be included as an automatic-qualifier, he said he won't discuss how much each country pays and no changes have been made so far. Also, he made it clear that if the big 4 didn't take part, the other countries would each need to pay a lot more, and although we knew this, he just seemed to make it sound like the big 4's automatic-qualifying is safe for now :D Once again, he said his favourite performer is Lady GaGa, and he likes R'n'B the best.

Now for the bad news...he said the Eurovision Dance Contest will not take place until better times, probably not for at least two years. So the Eurovision Dance Contest meant to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2010 will not take place.

Goran Bregovic has been confirmed as the composer for the Serbian entry this year

Also, the Irish national final will take place on March 5th, with 5 songs taking part.
