:heehee: it's not that I didn't like it, it was pretty good but I wouldn't rush back to listen to it - it didn't grab me in any way

I completely agree with you - TVE need to do an internal selection or something, leaving it to the public to decide on the internet, with 300 songs available is a dangerous game, because if there are 50 great pop songs, and 1 novelty song, the novelty song will stand out the most and voters will flock to it whilst serious voters spread their votes evenly to the great pop songs, diluting their chances

That said I'm still relatively confident that the stupid entry at the top of their voting will not make it to Oslo, thanks to the 50/50 split of televoting and juries in place in the final, but you never know I suppose.

What about the record label which signed Jade...I know that was part of the deal of winning YCNY, the contract was included. Would that label let their other acts do it?

Sorry, can't actually remember which record label it was.

I think it was Universal.

All (or most) winners of our national selection have been given at least a one single deal, but I can't remember any act that had a record contract in place at the time, even relatively well known singers like Javine and Andy Abraham had been dropped by then.

Universal signed up Jade but they were relying on her to sell records off the back of Eurovision, whereas for artists with existing contracts the promotion, rehearsal, and indeed the cost attatched to entering the contest would just get in the way of existing activities for the artists which would be much more fruitful for the label. I don't think even Universal would be willing to let one of their existing acts enter.

full version of the A1 song;

gets much better as it progresses, nice string section - should be an easy finalist, potential winner? although I'm a bit concerned about Keep of Kalessin winning...

and Mira's song in full;

great piano intro :o like nothing else in MGP of course, don't know if that will work in her favour - I love it! I know the Mira haters will crawl out of the woodwork any second though :lol:

Noticed they leaked :w00t: Will take a listen after the 1st series finale of Dollhouse :kink:

Omg, beautiful :wub: Its very Take-That-meets-Coldplay, I really hope that they win, KOK is KRAP :lol:

Keep Of Kalessin came on my player today in the Uni on my lab work. :kink: :wub:
I was planning to pay tickets for Semi Final 3 of MGP yesterday, but I have work on saturday :snif:

OH MY f'word GOD!!! :o

A1 to represent Norway :wub: omg omg omg

A1 would almost certainly get UK votes :kink: the juries would love it, and I'm CERTAIN that the public would too, on account that barely anyone in the UK even knows that A1 have reformed and it would be a bit of a pleasant shock for a lot of people to suddenly see them again after all these years!
They are only 1:30 :cry: Expected the full thing tbh. :(

A1 has the best song in MGP this year, so I hope they win. But I would also be happy with Maria, Bjorn or Venke (though I doubt the last two as they're only in the second chance).

If KOK wins, I dunno what to do. Never watch MGP again? Not watch ESC 2010? Make a complaint to NRK or the EBU saying that they can't allow this?

EDIT: After listening to Mira in full, it also sounds pretty good. I'll support her and A1. Strange song, but I just want to keep listening

Bjorn is doing the best on iTunes and is likely to sail through second chance...

but in the final I just don't know, it's no foregone conclusion like last year is it :o Maria has respect as she did well in the past for Norway, Mira is a huge star/celebrity there, A1's song is incredibly strong and they are still very popular in Norway, KoK's song is very different and a lot of casual watchers might vote for it, and then Bjorn might come out of nowhere a la Caroline Af Ugglas in MF last year...there is another song I'm keeping my eye on in semi 3 too - seeing as Frederik Kempe wrote it...

The song Frederik Kempe wrote is currently top of the ESCToday poll. I think it's ok, but a bit disappointing considering who wrote it

Quick question: Has a song which was in the second chance won MGP before? And if so, how often?

Another quick question: How much does the iTunes chart reflect how things are actually going to go in the contest?

Well, swedish iTunes precisely (?) showed at least the top 3 of MF final last year, so i guess it's not that different with NMGP :o

Not sure if it's her best work, love the chorus though :wub:

OMG Yesterday's 1st and 3rd acts in the Spanish voting have been expulsed :o :o

might be a bit late with this but Ronan Keating is writing the Danish entry again this year, even though Ireland clearly needs his work more :angry:

That awful Tsunami song is OUT :w00t: Best news ever :yahoo:

Going by BBCeurovision (the BBC's Eurovision twitter), and the fact the posted that an announcement is due in the next week or two on the 12th January, and 2 weeks is 14 days, 12+14=26. Today is the 21st. If they stand by their word, we should have an announcement within about the next 5 days :dance:
