might be a bit late with this but Ronan Keating is writing the Danish entry again this year, even though Ireland clearly needs his work more

A1

Apparently he's also written a song for Justin Lee Collins in the Irish selection.

The two best 5th place from the 3 semi finals of MGP goes to the last chance next week :)

So Lene Alexandra, Johnny Hide and Elisabeth Carew from SF1, and Skankers, Tomine Harket and Hanne Haugsand from SF2 have still a chance :) and of course the 3 who will not make it from SF3 on Saturday

I expect it was Elisabeth Carew and Tomine Harket in their respective 5th places, and I PRAY that Tomine gets another chance!

although Foxy's Do It Again did the same thing last year, going through to Last Chance via 5th place...but it didn't really help it at all :(

Portuguese selection: Part 1 (Songs can be heard here)

Nina Pinto - Meu Coracao Nao É Meu 9/10

Nucha - Chuva 7/10

Jorge Guerreiro - Ai Lisboa 6/10

Banda Trocopasso - O Mundo de Pernas para o Ar 8/10

Terra D'Água - Amanha no Mar 7/10

Seis Po' Meia Dúzia - Pássaro Saudade 10/10

Nuno & Fábia - Amar (Vieste Para me Salvar) 9/10

Filipa Azevedo - Há Dias Assim 10/10

Homens da Luta - Luta Assim Nao Dá 2/10 (and I think this one has the most votes out of the ones I've heard so far - No, Portugal, NO!)

David Navarro - Quem É que Será? 4/10

Was it "Canta Por Mim" by Catarina Pereira that someone mentioned earlier? That will be in part 3, but I've had a listen early and it is actually pretty good :)

"Rocketfuel" to have come 5th, please, and make it to the second chance, through to the final, selected for Oslo and win Eurovision 2010

Mira's song is growing on me, and now on my Mp3, along with A1.

my top 5 songs of 2010 so far (of what I've heard)

1) Nina Lassander - Cider Hill (Finland)

2) Venke Knutson - Jealous Cause I Love You (Norway)

3) Kolbrún Eva Viktorsdóttir - You Are The One (Iceland)

4) Maria Haukaas Storeng - Make My Day (Norway)

5) Mira Craig - I'll Take You High/A1 - Don't Wanna Lose You Again (Norway)

Oh good idea. My Top 5 would have to be....

1. Coral - En Una Vida (Spain)

2. Osmo Ikonen - Heaven or Hell (Finland)

3. A1 - Don't Wanna Lose You Again (Norway)

4. Samuel y Patricia - Recuerdame (Spain)

5. Nina Lassander - Cider Hill (Finland)

And I also have a guilty liking for the Dutch entry...I never ever skip it when it comes on!

In Melodi Grand Prix, when they say the 2 best 5th placed songs do they mean out of the three that did actually come 5th or does it just mean the two best songs out of the 9 that didn't make it?
That A1 song is alright... can't see it doing much in the final though should it win MGP. I like that Bjorn bloke's song the best in the Norweigan selection myself. ^_^

two best 5th placed songs I think - except all nine are/will be still in contention as we have no way of telling who came 5th in each semi

is it just me or does this A1 song sound incredibly similar melody wise in places to About You Now by Sugababes

2 of the 3 5th placed DNQ's will go to the last chance (The two is chosen by how many % votes they got)

If I get it how I want it to be:

Elisabeth Carew from SF1 came 5th, Tomine Harket from SF2 came 5th and Belinda Braza from SF3 will come 5th

5th Elisabeth Carew 7,5%

5th Tomine Harket 8,9%

5th Belinda Braza 6,4%

In this case only Tomine and Elisabeth would go to the last chance next saturday!

EDIT: This will be announced 25th of January at 12:00pm (CET)

This is my Top 5:

1. Kolbrún Eva Viktorsdóttir You Are The One' (Iceland)

2. Gaute Ormåsen 'Synk eller Svøm' (Norway)

3. Amadeus 'Anastacia' (Finland)

4. Annamari Dancs 'Aha' (Romania)

5. Xonia 'Take The Lead' (Romania)

Apparently he's also written a song for Justin Lee Collins in the Irish selection.

Which may be true because he is appearing on the RTÉ's The Late Late Show tonight. As much as I like him, I really REALLY hope he doesn't win because it will most likely be a novelty act.

The five acts taking part in the Dutch selection, to see who will see the Eurovision 2010 Winning entry, have been revealed:

Sieneke

Vinzzent

Marlous Oosting

Peggy Mays

Eva Simons

Oops, sorry, my mistake, Eva is just wishful thinking, it is actually....

LOEKS

To make up for teasing you, I shall let you listen to the Latvian songs here

MGP - SF3 - Skien

9.5 A1

9.0 Didrik Solli-Tangen

8.0 Karoline Garfjell

8.0 Belinda Braza

8.0 Mira Craig

4.0 Fred Endresen

0.0 The Diamond

:o I'll Take You High's on iTunes UK - it's amazing now

I won't buy it as I've heard enough good stuff from Norway now to warrant importing the MGP 2010 album :D

Justin Lee Collins or Ronan Keating?

It will be a novelty in that the whole thing is quite contrived, but in their defense, Ronan Keating writes a good song, Justin Lee Collins is a very good singer, and he has said that he's taking this whole thing very seriously and genuinely wants to go to Oslo and do as well as he can. The idea for his documentary actually sounds quite interesting!

If you've seen the shows he's done before where he tries to master a new skill or take on a challenge, you'll see he always puts 110% into whatever he's doing and gets into the spirit of the whole thing.
