I think both would easily come top 5...Frederik Kempe songs have a habit of flopping hard at ESC though :heehee: the juries would love both, and I reckon the public would too

Didrik won't win ESC for Norway for heavens sake. It's the X Factor effect..."big anthemic ballad with key change = winner" but it doesn't work like that at Eurovision most of the time.

 

However I can see it winning the Norwegian selection and the fan favourite it will inevitably become.

I'm not saying it would win but it seems to tick the 'It's My Time' boxes so top 5 would hardly be a massive shock - it's a different style to X Factor ballads anyway in my opinion, it's more like You Raise Me Up and I'll Leave My Heart

 

A1's song would be the better choice of entry in my opinion

Hmm It's My Time did well I forgot about that, although it did have both the diva vote and the "oh look, it's Andrew Lloyd Webber!" vote. That said with juries Didrik could do better than he would have a few years back.

 

I'll be quite disappointed if anybody other than A1 makes it, especially that stupid Disney ballad from semi 2.

KoK would be an awful choice and I don't see that it would do any better than bottom 5 in the final, Lordi only won because it was massively gimmicky, and a much better and more memorable song. Bjorn, Venke and Mira would be my choices but I really can't see Venke getting enough support now to get to the final, I'm near certain that it will be Bjorn and Mira.

if anything Mira should have been on an easier week, I don't reckon she would have ended up in second chance last week or the week before...it was obvious that A1 and Didrik were the finalists here

Do they decide which semi-final each act is in by random draw, or did they think "Well everyone will be looking forward to Mira, we'll put her in the last semi-final to build more anticipation"?

I expect it's all finely planned out and chosen carefully. They know what will be popular - it would have been a disaster if the two Maria's, Mira, A1, Didrick, Bjorn and Keep Of Kalessin had all ended up in the same semi for example - nobody would have watched the other two :lol:

They probably 'seed' it to prevent too many big names clashing in the same semis :P

I don't think people voted for "It's My Time" just because Andrew Lloyd Webber was playing piano

 

I didn't know who he was before ESC and I don't think alot of people in Europe know who he is and what he is known for :P

Didrik's song is quite good, but definitely not a winner imo... A1's song is growing on me though, and I reckon they'll get the ticket to the final myself.
