Posted October 1, 200915 yr CNN released quotes today from tapes Jackson recorded with his friend and spiritual adviser, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, between August 2000 and April 2001 and Jackson mentioned Britney, saying: "I don't believe that she'll have any great longevity in the public eye because she doesn't understand the power of mystery". CNN - 11 years later? :kink: Keep in mind this was before they actually met, and this was before she "reinvented" herself with the 'Britney' album. He obviously changed his mind later that year. Later the next year http://britneyspears.i.ph/photo/d/1471-1/00281685_lg.jpg + http://www.mtv.co.uk/files/imagecache/gallery_wide/2009/05/26/51679708.jpg
October 1, 200915 yr Well boy was he WRONG. I suppose it would've made sense for some people to think she may not last after Baby and Oops were along the same lines. She obviously did figure out how to change things up. I'm not too sure about right now in time though since it does seem Britney is going more for the same sound and trying to be almost 'safe' controversial consistently. Not like that is a bad thing as she's doing pretty well with it.
October 1, 200915 yr Author I think that can be judged by her next studio album. I think she will surprise us. I'm ready for a new feel from her. Keep the elctro feel but add more emotion to it. The new RAY OF LIGHT if you will.
October 1, 200915 yr I agree or at least the album would feel more special and credible to people if she had more input into the writing process again. I get why you said emotion though. From her past 2 albums you don't get any emotion or that kind of vibe out of clubby dance tracks very often. I think she got closer on Circus with a few tracks (ex. My Baby but that wasn't anywhere near EPIC status) but some more of that on the next one would be great. The recent music by her has been great but I feel you really can't connect with her if she doesn't put the whole heart/emotion/etc. into the tracks.
October 1, 200915 yr I want more of her emotions too! please more ballads and songs wriiten by her for the next cd! now looking back I think I'm favoring In The Zone as her best album yet! and she wrote/co-wrote 8/12 tracks on it
October 4, 200915 yr Well I bet he didn't even knew her by the time he said that. And also, I guess many people used to think Britney wouldn't last the first 3 years she started. I know lots of my friends and family in general thought she wasn't going to last. I remember my singing teacher used to say to me "the day she puts on weight on her, she will disappear cause everything about her is image, she's talentless". I was so furious I said to him "she's way more than that, people have an obsession with her and she her spirit and dedication will take her very far and she'll become some sort of icon in 10 years time". He obviously laughed on my face.
October 5, 200915 yr only become a fan after her comeback but she did have good songs before eg 'toxic' 'everytime' 'crazy'
