The Circus Tour in numbers compared to other artists' tours

 

 

- Beyonce's I AM Tour :‘I Am…’ tour was named one of the worlds hottest concert attractions on Billboard’s Hot Tour rankings. Since her concert began this Spring, the singer has pulled in $36 million in ticket sales. That total also includes her sellout shows at London’s O2 Arena and four more sellouts at Dublin’s O2 as well as her US and European gigs. Her show ranks among the top 15 grossing tours of the year, with still more dates scheduled this fall. That means she is set to largely surpass the $36 million already made. Powerful earnings. Powerful woman. Now she can sit down, for life, and pop out a couple of kids…

 

- Christina Aguilera's Back to Basics Tour :

The Back to Basics Tour is the fourth concert tour by American singer-songwriter, Christina Aguilera. The tour supported her third studio album, Back to Basics. It was promoted by AEG Live and which ended up grossing $85 million and took the top spot on Billboard as the most successful female tour of 2007. The tour received rave reviews from USA Today and the Los Angeles Times. It's worth noting that her tour with co-headliner Justin Timberlake in 2003 only grossed $45 million.

 

- Michael Jackson's Bad Tour :

(September 12, 1987 - January 24, 1989)

The Bad Tour was Michael Jackson's first solo tour. The tour began with 14 sell out concerts at the Korakuen Stadium, Yokohama, on September 12, 1987. The U.S.A leg of the Bad Tour began in Kansas city to 2 sell-out concerts in Kemper Arena, bringing in $700,000 and $200,000 more than any other artist at the venue. The European leg of the tour was kicked off with 2 concerts at Flaminio Stadium, Rome. While performing in London, England Michael breaks a world record (as shown in the Guinness Book Of World Records) with 504,000 people attending 7 sold out shows at Wembley Stadium, more than any other artist. The 123rd and final show took place in Los Angeles at the Sports Arena on January 24, 1989.

The 16 month tour grossed over $125 million, more than any other entertainer had on a single tour. During the tour Michael invited underprivileged children to watch him perform, and contributed to hospitals, orphanages, and other charities.

 

Mariah Carey's Rainbow & Charbracelet Tours :

Rainbow, Carey had released her ninth album Rainbow in November 1999 and decided to go on tour to promote it. Unlike her previous outing, the Butterfly World Tour, marked Carey's first tour in the U.S. in 7 years since her 1993 Music Box Tour garnered a flurry of bad initial reviews. The tour grossed $17 million from the North American dates alone, according to Billboard. Critical reaction was mixed at best, especially in the United States.

Charmbraclet, had its highest audience number in Manila, Philippines which has 30,000 audience. According to Billboard, the tour grossed $75 million worldwide.[2] The 36 international dates grossed 40% more revenue ($42.5 million) than the 33 U.S. dates ($33.5 million).

 

Justin Timberlake's FutureSexLoveShow Tour :

FutureSex/LoveShow is the third concert tour by American singer-songwriter, Justin Timberlake. The tour supported his second studio album, FutureSex/LoveSounds. This became Timberlake's first solo global tour, reaching North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. The tour grossed nearly $100 million including merchandise sales!

 

The Circus Starring Britney Spears :

Britney Spears has sold more than 83 million albums and grossed over $350M in ticket sales. She now stands at the threshold of a new chapter in her career. On December 2, 2008, Britney released her new album, "Circus" which sold over 500,000 copies in its first week of release and debuted at number one in the United States and five other countries. To date, "Circus" has sold more than 3,8 million copies worldwide. Her "Circus" Tour has become the highest grossing tour of 2009, grossing US$74.6 million in its first 48 shows & will more than likely manage to reach the US$140 million by the end of her Australian shows. (more than Michael's Bad Tour & keep in mind she did perform in Asia or Africa or Latin America, if she did like Michael did she'll reach the US$200 million for sure)
