Posted October 12, 200915 yr I am having a discussion with Callum about the whole change Ana had. The new music style, new look everything. Who is to blame? Cuz lets be honest, it wasn't very succesful. Discuss!
October 12, 200915 yr Author I 'blame' Ana. Everyone is blaming Universal for it, while I think Ana didn't try hard enough to get her way and make sprock music. And the look, that was awful. The botox, the hair, the outfits.. Horrific. As I told Callum, because of her huge mess up, I think P!nk has just passed Anastacia as my fave singer.. Something I though would NEVER happen...
October 12, 200915 yr i think there is blame on both sides, Universal wanted to change her too much but Ana sat back and let them do it
October 12, 200915 yr Music = Universal Look = Wayne/Anastacia (Ana said Wayne influenced her new look) I've still stuck by her though, and I'm glad I did, I won't stop being a fan because of one bad era, she's returning to the way she used to be and please, Universal, if you read this, let her!
October 12, 200915 yr Author I'm still a huge fan. But it showed me some of her flaws, and I don't like them one bit
October 12, 200915 yr I always wondered what she would sound like if she did something this...it's ok but I like the Sprock much better.
October 13, 200915 yr both parts have their faults but imo, the first mistake was the long, long time between Anastacia album/Lal-Encore tour and HR album okay, she worked during those years, she was here and there but it wasn't enough to keep her 'high' dunno if i made myself clear
October 13, 200915 yr Author Yeah, you are.. She never should have left the music industry for so long
October 13, 200915 yr i like you, frank! :D joshie-woshie never agreed with me :P oh no! only once, and i almost fainted...
October 13, 200915 yr There's fault on both parts. Universal wanted to keep her look/sound youthful. She gets a dodgy makeover, her and universals fault. I'm pretty sure that the music executives in Mercury didn't strap her to a chair and pull out a pair of scissors and put it to her head. Secondly, they gave her some of the best producers around! Ne-Yo, DARKCHILD!!, The Heavyweights, Lester Mendez, JR Rotem. Just remember, she also writes/co-produces and sings on the songs to. It's a partnership between the artist and the producer. She played a massive part in producing a crap album, that was hers. But it's almost a year gone now, done and dusted.
October 25, 200915 yr she made a choice to try something new and it didnt work out. these things happen with every artist. hr was her flop album so to say. the result was an intimate tour that gave us fans more Ana than ever before. i am glad i was there to be part of it. she is still the ana we've always known and she fact she made a wrong decision doesnt change how i feel about her. its part of evolving as an artist and in the end this will all benefit her career. if the album had been hugely succesful we may not have had the Here Come The Girls tour. there's a reason for everything people !!
