I think it's quite plain that the song will be given a major revamp before the finals. I doubt that the 32 songs each year are submitted to SVT exactly as they sound in the proper competition.

I think it could be quite fun in its final version :P

they'd have to wildly overhaul the dire vocals in the verses to make it any good, imagine what they must sound like live :drama:

the second wildcard is Salem al Fakir

I know everyone else will say 'who?' but I'm ecstatic about this

I'm sure it will turn up, in some shape or form...

maybe they're trying to Af Ugglas-ize all of the songs this year to make the competition more respectable

plus its quite clear that Schlager = fail at the moment in Eurovision :( maybe something like Snalla Snalla would have actually done a lot better in the ESC!?!

The first batch of performers have been announced, mainly in the first and second heats.

Heat 1, Örnsköldsvik 6 February 2010:

Jenny Silver - A place to stay

Jessica Andersson - I did it for love

Salem - Keep on walking

Ola - Unstoppable

Pain of Salvation - Road salt

Frispråkarn - Singel

Anders Ekborg - The saviour

Linda Pritchard - You're making me hot-hot-hot

Heat 2, Sandviken 13 February 2010:

Artist TBC - Come and get me now

Andra Generationen & Dogge - Hippare Hoppare

Anna-Maria Espinosa - Innan alla ljusen brunnit ut

Hanna Lindblad - Manipulated

Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän - Underbart

Eric Saade - Manboy

Andreas Johnson - We can work it out

plus one more wild card

Alot of new names there. Nice to see Ola and Andreas Johnson back again, and I suppose Jessica Andersson (one half of Fame).

As for the other ones, I've had a look around and it seems Pain of Salvation are a prog rock band, Linda Pritchard is an Idols reject who has released a couple of alright pop songs, Anders Ekborg and Hanna Lindblad are quite musical theatre (with Anders being by far the better of the two, and a last minute replacement for the song that was DQed a few days back), and I'm very much looking forward to hearing what Anna-Maria Espinosa comes out with after seeing

which I really like :)

Salem Al Fakir is the wildcard in the first heat, and Darin is in the third or fourth heat. The wildcard from the second heat is yet to be announced, as is the artist to perform the web joker winner which will also be in the second heat.

Finally, Eric Saade played Troy in the Swedish stage production of High School Musical and Rich, you will recognise him...have a think!

I totally didn't realise her boyfriend was a fellow zelebrity...I thought he was just some emo guy whose parents are probably rich.

he's probably that too to be honest, how else would he have got to where he is :w00t:

I expect he'll be in the final seeing as the song was written by Frederik Kempe!

Well he's not displeasing on the eye so I'm fine with that :P

and with a title like Manboy, it sounds like it could be the schlager classic we'd all been hoping for!

on his Facebook page, Andreas Johnson has described his MF song as 'a pretty epic ballad in the landscape between Glorious and The Games We Play' sounds incredible, although it will take a lot to beat Sing For Me and A Little Bit Of Love

Are people allowed to write two songs, for two different countries in the same year? Hasn't Frederik Kempe also got a song in MGP?

I'm not complaining, he's worked on some good entries, but what if they both make it to Oslo. Where would he sit in the green room? With Norway, or with Sweden? :P

With Norway I guess since tjey are the host :P

Yes they are. Singers aren't allowed to represent more than one country but songwriters are. Thomas G:Son had songs representing Spain and Norway in 2007, and was close to having songs for Romania and his home country Sweden as well!

I would hope Frederik Kempe would sit with Sweden since it's his home country!

Frederik's getting used to the ESC green room! I expect Manboy will sail through to the final, where it will be performed last, and voila, Mr Kempe returns to Eurovision again!

the song that won the webjoker, Come and Get Me Now, is apparently getting a schlager/dansband overhaul in time for the semi-finals! should make it infinitely more interesting than the weak original...I can only imagine how cheesy it will sound
