Running order:

1. Darin

2. Pernilla Wahlgren

3. Andreas Johnson

4. Timoteij

5. Peter Joback

6. Ola

7. Jessica Andersson

8. Salem Al Fakir

9. Anna Bergendahl

10. Eric Saade

I know there are alot of ballads and they all have to go somewhere, but Darin has to be the more bizarre choice for an opening song I've seen in a long time. Predictable that Christer has stuck the schlager in the death slot and commendable that he realises Peter Joback doesn't stand much of a chance. It's going to be a bit of an uphill struggle for Timoteij, and it's looking more and more like a win for This Is My Life.

Out of the last 8 Melodifestivalens (since the introduction of heats), 4 of the winners have performed first in the final. Don't rule him out!

Two have been the last to perform, and the other two were Lena and Carola.

no Anna or please god not that Salem song!! I don't know what people are seeing there TBH

with anyting else I can live with :)

:drama: does Kempe just automatically get the last spot in the final every year?

I can see Anna possibly winning now, I don't think the fact that she's #1 in Sweden should be ignored, she's hardly comparable to E.M.D. who had a massive fanbase in the first place. Eric would do bugger all at Eurovision and would be a mistake I think.

It's between Salem, Darin, Timoteij and Anna now. I don't think Eric has a chance for a Top 4 in all honesty.

Eric's song is popular and placed last it will do well, plus it won it's heat don't forget. I think it will come 5th at the very very least. It's almost certainly between the four you mentioned and Eric. And here is how I predict all ten would perform at ESC :o

Darin - 11th-15th in the final

Pernilla Wahlgren - out in the semis, or bottom five in the final

Andreas Johnson - out in the semis, or bottom ten in the final

Timoteij - 1st-5th in the final

Peter Joback - 15th-20th in the final

Ola - 18th-23rd in the final

Jessica Andersson - 6th-10th in the final

Salem Al Fakir - god knows

Anna Bergendahl - top ten in the final

Eric Saade - 15th-20th in the final

Pernilla and Andreas would be disasterous in ESC terms, as would Eric, Ola and Peter in my opinion...Anna, Jessica and Timoteij would do best, Darin could do well. I have NO idea how Salem would be perceived.

my ranking for the final:

1. Darin - "You're Out Of My Life"

2. Timoteij - "Kom"

3. Ola Svensson - "Unstoppable"

4. Eric Saade - "Manboy"

5. Peter Jöback - "Hollow"

6. Jessica Andersson - "I Did It For Love"

7. Anna Bergendahl - "This Is My Life"

8. Pernilla Wahlgren - "Jag Vill Om Du Vågar"

9. Andreas Johnson - "We Can Work It Out"

10. Salem Al Fakir - "Keep On Walking"

Oh no, I've not heard Anna's song, but still, I don't think it can be better than my favourites, so I don't wanted it performed 9th. Good running order for Eric & Salem, two of my three favourites, but bad for Timoteij :( Ola is also really good. Them four for top four please

I'd say Salem could do very well in the final if it comes across well visually. I've come around to the idea that Timoteij could do well, but they are by no means winners. Top ten though. I think I'd agree with most of those other predictions except I think you're overestimating Anna and Jessica. I think Ola could maybe do a little better than 18th but not much.

So this one guy gets to decide by himself who sings where? That's a bit unfair. How the hell does he get to call the shots? He hasn't exactly done a great job in recent years

To be fair, it's probably not Christer all by himself, I'm sure it's not that much of a dictatorship

It's far from random but there is probably a group of people who decide.

Would it be so hard to listen to Anna's song before you decide you don't want her to win?

Suppose not, but I doubt it will be as good. Isn't it Anna's song that people say is a grower? And you shouldn't send a grower to ESC, as a lot of the audience will be listening for the first time, so it needs to be instant - which I think "Kom" & "Manboy" certainly are

And I hate how the running order isn't decided by a random draw. Imagine the outrage if they did that at the real ESC, and your country was decided to be performing first :P

EDIT: Just listened to Anna's song. Ain't too bad, but not as good as the four I mentioned in my previous post.

Yes it is a bit of a grower. Personally I'd be quite disappointed if it won, and it's not among my favourites, but I've listened to all of the songs and arrived at that conclusion. Disregarding a song without even attempting to listen to it is utterly ridiculous.

It's not my favourite song by a long stretch, but there are people on this forum and others who do like it, and clearly the Swedes see something in it considering that it's top of their iTunes chart, so who is to say that you won't like it?

I imagine Anna's song getting boring after a little while to be honest.

A Timoteij win seems to be looking less likely to be honest...the momentum, mass airplay and #1 single is with Anna, who isn't having to (solely at least) rely on teenage girls to get her to #1!

Straight from 6.5 to 20 :o Anna winning will be a disappointment tbh. Salem all the way! Eurovision will not have to move far. (Only 2 hours on train/ferry :kink: )

Indeed - but has there ever been a more obvious gulf between the top 5 and bottom 5? Darin's the only 'second placed' song that could still fight for the win, the Andra Chansen songs are definitely not winners. They're clearly wanting to do a Yohanna with This Is My Life, and it's certainly different from the other ballads confirmed for ESC so far but her voice might put people off (not me mind)

How was Malena doing with the bookies this time last year?

Anna ain't too bad, if it's a grower, then I should really like it come ESC, my only problem with her is that she isn't Salem, Timoteij, Eric or Ola :(
