I agree Pavel  it's like she had a robotic arm that was independent from her body! the song is so minimal and great but her voice didn't suit it at all, apparently she's a rock singer usually - it would have been better sung by a pop singer

Hmmm I'm not sure I like the idea of the losing songs all being released onto iTunes. It means people will be more familiar with them than the finalists in a few weeks time. There are bound to be a few hits out of the losers if they're all released ceremoniously a few days after the heats like this.

I'm sure they did the same last year too though and the finalists were still much bigger hits in the end in terms of memorability if not peak position...Shirley Clamp's song from last year got to #1 and then dived to #16 the following week  once the initial hype wears off they have nothing - I doubt radio will latch onto all of the losers

Jenny Silver up to #2 on iTunes! I bought it today on UK iTunes :D

Linda up to #12...

Realistically they were a little off the mark last week, but nevertheless the first descriptions of the songs for this week are in:

Erik Saade - It's got a touch of 'Womanizer' about it mixed with 'Hope & Glory'.

Andra Generation - Typical dirge, sounds like something Croatia would send.

Anna Maria Espinosa - A very soft ballad, similar to her other material.

MiSt & Highlights - This has had a complete makeover, now in the 'Dansband' style that seems to be so popular over there.

Pauline - Sounds like The Supremes mixed with 'You're My World' by Emilia.

Andreas Johnson - Mid-tempo ballad going back to his 'Glorious' roots.

Kalle Moraeus - An older woman singing a poor man's 'Fairytale'.

Hanna Lindblad - GaGa meets Kylie, fantastic apparently.

Well I don't know where they're getting the "woman" thing from in the Kalle Moraeus description but oh well. It looks more exciting than I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to hearing Eric, Anna, Pauline, Andreas and Hanna. And out of pure curiosity I'm dying to hear how the MiSt song has turned out!

Mist is either going to be amazing or awful  But at least it will be better than the demo. Erik, Pauline, Andreas and Hanne are set to be the highlights otherwise, imho.

From today's rehearsal....

Yes please!!! :kink:

from those descriptions (and that picture) I reckon Eric and Andreas (if it really is going back to his Glorious roots, it should be sensational) will go to Globen and Pauline and Hanna will go to Andra Chansen

Eric will be the only certain qualifier there though I reckon, I'm not sure how popular Andreas still is in Sweden, One Love didn't reach the final and it was incredibly decent in my opinion (and had Carola on it!)

I think you've just asked and answered your own question

For some reason I can see Andreas being the winner. I'd imagine Erik, Hanna, Pauline and Highlights/MiSt (somebody must have voted for it first time around, the there is always a dansband vote!) being the other four who go ahead. Can't really make any further predictions without hearing the songs.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the MiSt song - I found the original very weak but only production wise really, so now that's been improved it could be quite good. I'm worried that I have my hopes too high for Andreas based on his last 3 MF entries and Glorious but we'll see...

I'm going out on Saturday night at about 8pm so hopefully I'll see all of the performances before I go and I'll catch up on the results the next day

I'm worried about the Andreas song as well, as I've definitely got high hopes for it! I'm fully expecting it to be the best one in the heat so I hope it's not a disappointment. He's the bookies' favourite to qualify, although I suppose they're going by past reputation as well.

I'm also going out...I hope I manage to catch at least the performances.

Based on that alone...

I want him to win the whole thing

Most looking forward to Hanna - if the song really is GaGa meets Kylie, it should be amazing

it's probably an overreaction  didn't somebody say that Tokyo Night song from MGP was Lady GaGa mixed with Margaret Berger? it wasn't that special in my opinion...

Apparently Hanna's performance is utterly fantastic but "borders on techno" and therefore "won't get the votes"

they were obsessed with Tingaliin last year and that was techno...

maybe it wasn't an actual entry but it was #1 in Sweden for quite a few weeks, causing Hope & Glory, Stay The Night, Snalla Snalla and La Voix to all peak at #2!

Ah but it had novelty value (apparently).

the joke was lost on me  and I understood the joke with the Linda/Markoolio song so it can't have just been the language barrier :P (particularly seeing as the majority of Tingalin was in English!)

Yeah, I thought "Tokyo Night" was like a Lady GaGa song [only not as good], and I thought Karoline looked a bit like GaGa. And that was nothing special in the end :(

Well well what can i see here? Wet men. . HMMMMMMMM
