I was waiting for your response Pavel

How on Earth i could ignore this?! :kink:

The clips from tomorrow night are up. I'm at the airport at the moment on one of those public computers which for some reason won't let me copy and paste a link, but you can find one on ESC Today.

"Manboy, manboy, you can call me manboy"

What the actual f-ck?

Fredrik Kempe was clearly having inappropriate thoughts about Erik when he wrote that song, and it's much much more Womanizer than Hope and Glory. Anyways it's godawful, as are most of the songs from this semi judging by the clips.

Andreas sounds promising though, and Come and Get Me Now is a million times better than it was when it won the webjoker competition. It could get to Andra Chansen actually.

my views on the clips

Manboy - catchy, definitely has a Womanizer feel to it, I think this has a lot of potential 8.5/10

Hippare Hoppare - atrocious, mixing traditional Eastern European sounds with Swedish rap? doesn't work at all 1/10

Innan alla ljusen brunnit ut - it's alright, I think I need to hear the full song 7/10

Come And Get Me Now - almost unrecognisable from the irritating webjoker original! good but not amazing 7.5/10

Sucker For Love - Pauline doesn't look anything like a popstar  more like a librarian or something! this is quite decent, a bit 2008 with the soul pop sound but has promise nevertheless, very Duffy/Amy etc... 8/10

We Can Work It Out - has potential, but it doesn't sound like a classic 8/10

Underbart - awful, why is Christer putting acts like this through? it's clearly bottom of the semi fodder, incredibly boring and not at all relevant 3/10

Manipulated - doesn't seem to have much of a hook from the clip, it's certainly no GaGa/Kylie stormer but it's pleasant 7.5/10

this must be the weak semi  rather disappointed by the clips - Manboy seems to be the strongest song here but I'm hoping Andreas' song is better in full. a few others have potential too but Underbart and Hippare Hoppare are two complete wastes of entries in my opinion...anyway, from this I shall conclude that Eric and either Andreas or Pauline will go to the final with whichever one doesn't go to the final and either MiSt or Hanna Lindblad going through to Andra Chansen

I won't be able to watch the SF2 either

Eric has serious vampire teeth. But "Manboy" sounds quite good.

The second song, which is in Swedish so I won't type the title, sounds really awful.

The third song, in Swedish, ain't too bad.

"Come And Get Me Now" still isn't great, but it's better

I don't know quite what to make of "Sucker For Love", it's quite good, but there's something not right about it.

"We Can Work It Out" is ok, but I don't think his face is quite their yet :P - might be because of his stupid expression

"Underbart" sounds ok, but without wanting to 'cause offence, I think people over a certain age shouldn't be allowed to ESC. That Croatian rapper in 2008 was awful :puke2:

I can see where they were coming from when they compared Hanna to GaGa, but it ain't that good. Maybe second-chance.

After that, all I can conclude is that I want "Manboy" to go straight to the final. Darin better have an amazing song, because the songs so far are less than my expectations, and if this continues, I will be disappointed with Sweden this year

Salem's song going straight to the final is good enough to make up for some of the other songs being underwhelming...it certainly seems to be by far the best of the 16 songs we've heard so far (assuming that none of these 8 turn out to be drastically better than their 1 minute clips)
Am I the only one that really loves Manipulated then? Manboy is good too, and I quite like Sucker For Love. But otherwise, meh.

Manboy - Vampire teeth  Stupid text. Quite catchy music though. COULD DO WHEN DRUNK. 7/10

Hippare Hoppare - LOL This is hilarious...ly awful. Seems like two completely different cultures were mixed up in this song. That isn't good in the very case. 2/10

Innan alla ljusen brunnit ut - Boring crap, sounds like a dated Russian song with slightest bit of modern sounding. Seriously. 50-year olds here will LOVE it. HAHA! 4/10

Come And Get Me Now - This sounds like a grower to me. Quite generic sound in all honesty, if i were told it's from 2007 i would believe them. 6.5/10

Sucker For Love - Quite catchy and reminding me of Janelle Monae for some thing. . @Rich on the librarian note - Mira Craig looks like one in Headhunted too :kink: 8/10

We Can Work It Out - Softer rubbish Keane sound. Like Keane very much though btw <3 5/10

Underbart - Loving the traditional sound (not swedish though i suppose), the vocals are alright, so far the only song i am interested to see in the show tomorrow. 9/10

Manipulated - This will be Marie Serneholt vocals-wise tomorrow I BET Y'ALL. Not saying it won't qualify thoughю 6.5/10

---------------------------------------

The second semifinal curse as always. About 80% of all pre-ESC selection 2ND semifinals are incredibly $h!tty.

but Mira Craig is attractive in the first place and she pulls it off in a quirky sort of way, Pauline actually looks like a librarian/teacher :heehee:

It's just that one picture

And am I the only one who can see how utterly ridiculous Manboy is? It makes me cringe! Coupled with the performance it just seems to be Fredrik Kempe living out his gay Erik Saade fantasy through the song!

and about 50 others I saw on the internet when I did an image search on her

It's.... silly, but how do we know it's specially written for him anyway? I think it's Kempe's attempt at a "Eurovision" song, as there does seem to be more focus on the ESC this year...

true, Christer obviously needs Sweden to do well this year or else he won't be a very popular man :P

hence a lot of the songs are generally less tailored towards being radio/chart hits and more tailored towards Eurovision - I don't see why there should be a distinction between the two sadly, Eurovision songs should be as contemporary as any other current music in my opinion, look at some of those that did well around the world last year - I'd hardly call 'Always' a typical Eurovision song, moreso a chart hit, but it managed to be both!

The rehearsal public voting results:

Eric Saade - Manboy: 526

Andreas Johnson - We Can Work It Out: 437

Kalle Moraeus och Orsa Spelmän - Underbart: 345

Andra Generation och Dogge Doggelito - Hippare Hoppare: 103

Hanna Lindblad - Manipulated: 79

Pauline - Sucker for love: 79

Anna Maria Espinosa - Innan alla ljusen brunnit ut: 32

MiSt och Highlights - Come and get me now: 18

Underbart has a good chance i say :w00t:

^ that's not good thing :P

oh dear at MiSt, the webjoker thing was awful really, I hope they don't do it again next year

Two of my favourites are going out tonight then I guess :(

I'd take these with a pinch of salt...if both Underbart and Hippare Hoppare go to at least Andra Chansen it will be a complete disaster :( one would be bad enough
Tru dat :kink: Finland didn't choose Humppa Humppesta so there is hope
