I don't find 'This Is My Life' as dated as a lot of ballads selected. I've had Rix FM on a lot recently, and it's played all the time, much more than all of the other MF entries, and it certainly doesn't sound out of place amongst the likes of Westlife, Lady GaGa and Rihanna, it's a very commercial radio friendly song. I see what you mean about this year's contest though, it's incredibly ballad heavy, and a lot of the ballads aren't all that interesting. I guess it's thanks to the juries coming back, countries are assuming that it's the only thing that they're going to vote for (which was indeed backed up last year to some extent by Jade and Patricia doing much better than they otherwise would have done), but the juries also voted for the uptempo songs if they were good enough a la Fairytale!

 

I didn't mean to imply that This Is My Life is dated, as it isn't, but the company that it would be in at the contest would not help it. There are already alot of ballads and alot of them are not that good.

I'm really hoping Kom can walk away with this. Sweden would be fools not to - victory would be in the bag if they sent it against the dire competition they face!

I believe that "Kom" would win ESC if they sent it

 

Otherwise, I think Slovakia, Croatia or Moldova could all do well - maybe not quite win though

 

Romania is also one of the best, but I don't like it quite as much as "The Balkan Girls" (though I didn't like that as much to begin with so this should grow on me loads), but I just don't see "Playing With Fire" winning.

I'm very happy with the songs that progressed through the second chance final. It's shaping up to be a great final, I just hope the Swedes see sense and send Kom :P.

 

It's probably the strongest national final out of all of them though.

We all know the ESCToday polls aren't 100% reliable (though they got tonight's qualifiers in Germany right), but "Kom" is currently leading in their poll about the MF final. Anna currently 3rd

I won't be able to go to MF now :(

 

I was supposed to fly over to Stockholm this morning but I've been feeling really sick for the last 36 hours or so and it's showing no signs of going anywhere, I can barely move out of my bed and certainly can't go away anywhere feeling like this. Absolutely gutted.

That sucks! I've recently got sick as well but it always doesn't last long in my case, that i thank god for, just in case I plan to go to MF or ESC.
