Aww

That sucks! I've recently got sick as well but it always doesn't last long in my case, that i thank god for, just in case I plan to go to MF or ESC.

That's so sad you can't go. Oh well i hope Peter will stalk some celebrities there and take picture with them (I would've been in heaven if i got to see Christine live :w00t: Christine in 2010 = Caroline in 2009 :kink: ) although it won't be the same without you :drama: Were you supposed to meet up there?

We were going to try and meet up yep, seeing as we would have been at the same hotel.

I'm really annoyed, there were so many things I was looking forward to seeing, not least the final itself! I haven't been ill in maybe six months and then it came on Tuesday night, and this sort of bug always tends to last 4 or 5 days with me, and I feel horrendous, too dizzy to walk anywhere further than outside the house :drama: I guess I'll try again next year but I'm really upset that I can't go to this one :(

Is there a chance for you to go to Oslo? Money's been saved and everything :kink:

ha, no sadly not :( I wouldn't be able to get final tickets anyway so it's not worth looking into it. These things happen I guess, I've never had to cancel a holiday before through illness, I've always been lucky in the past.

Sorry to hear that Rich :(

If it helps I've been feeling really rough too, and it's touch and go whether I'm going to YCNU on Friday. I am definitely going out tonight though, even if I have to drink water, as it's a Eurovision night and I've promised some people...

Had I known I wouldn't be able to make MF, I would have applied for tickets for YCNU, but there's no guarantee that I'll be feeling any better tomorrow anyway :(

Well, if you are, I might have one spare, though they might be gobbled up by tonight

 No, don't worry, I'll watch it on TV. I'm sure we'll be picking a tragedy of a song anyway :heehee:

OK :) Yeah, we probably will  At least we know it's going to be uptempo (have you heard any of the interviews with Waterman?)

Not yet, I'm curious to see what he's written. Part of me is pessimistic (because it's Waterman :drama:) but part of me is strangely optimistic because ESC is severly lacking in uptempos this year...

edit: just watched the interview on the BBC site, seems like the word 'and - a.n.d. not a.n' will feature heavily in the song then! Seeing as he just called 5,6,7,8 the perfect potential Eurovision song, I'm now worried again, and expecting some eurodance circa 1997 track to represent us

Well, it almost worked for Montenegro last year
"and - a.n.d. not a.n"? I didn't get it :(

^watch the video on the BBC website (if you can)

Pete was basically mocking the artists that shorten the word 'and' to 'an'

BBC site is racist as usual, i could do some magic and watch it there anyway but it'll take about 10 minutes, cba :(

'an' instead of 'and' sounds stupid in some songs tbh indeed!

It's a common language thing in the UK, just as people drop t's in a lot of word's...

my home town Brighton, pronounced Brighten is usually referred to as 'Brie-un' by most chavs

This is pretty ridiculous tbh, i can't understand most of the chavs language. Why is there so many completely different accents/pronounciations in the UK?! Even a native speaker and who was born there wouldn't be able to count all of them :(

I've decided that I definitely don't think Timoteij will win now sadly...I'm not there to judge it for myself (:() but from what I've read, the momentum is with Anna and Salem, there doesn't seem to be that much hype around Kom, apart from with Eurovision fans. Taking charts into account, Anna and Salem haven't budged from #1 and #2 on iTunes all week whereas Timoteij have lingered mid to low top ten. Looking at youtube views, Salem's had six times as many views of his performance than Timoteij, although perhaps because he has a loyal fanbase in the first place.
Shame :( I'd love them too, but I think it's inevitable that the fan-favourite won't win. Salem would be a decent entry, though I have no idea how it would do. Anna would get lost in the stream of ballads and I don't know if it would even qualify...

Shame, as I want "Kom" to win, but Salem would be a really good choice, would prefer him over Anna.

So sorry to hear you can't go to MF :( Maybe something's going around - I know it's nowhere near the same, but I've had a bad cough all day, as has someone else I know. And someone else I know wasn't feeling great yesterday, and has been fully ill today...

Same here, although I'd be ecstatic with either Kom or Salem and happy with Anna.

Yeah I'm still gutted, and feeling worse than I did this morning now actually, so I'm quite glad I didn't go as I'd be stuck in the hotel room I reckon. Going out in temperatures of -10 or whatever it is with the high temperature that I have at the moment probably wouldn't have done me any favours :drama: I know what you mean though, it seems to be the season for illnesses, last year I was lucky not to be ill at all really...at least it's nothing serious anyway

Aaaw, so sorry for you Rich, it's so typical isn't it? :o
