Saturday night will be a bloodbath :drama: I'll need Eva and Ragnhildur to calm me down after the influx of new music from Denmark/Sweden

Lol

I agree, I remember when I watch SS for two weeks ago, I almost fell asleep :drama:

Some descriptions of this weekend's songs I found:

Ola - Typical uptempo-Pop. Half EMD, half Måns' 'Hope & Glory'.

Jenny Silver - A heavy bass and finger snapping.

Linda Pritchard - Shakira-stlye Pop combined with 'Shady Lady'.

Pain of Salvation - Slow ballad, carried by male choirs and an organ. No metal, no guitars as some of us previously expected.

Anders Ekborg - Musical/Opera ballad, lots of choirs.

Jessica Andersson - Classic Eurovision-ballad. Closer to 'Hold Me Now' than 'Empty Room'.

Frispråkarn - God awful Rap with a female hook, in the lines of Chipmunk.

Salem Al Fakir - A bit of a James Bond-ballad, with a Mika-falsetto.

Ooh, I expect to like at least HALF of them from these descriptions! :o That's what i call a national final of QUALITY! <3

I'm going to try and watch the MF live this weekend, provided there's a webcast, as the videos are usually blocked on Youtube within minutes of being uploaded.

MGP final will be my second choice if the MF webcast fails. I'll be keeping track of Iceland too to find out Hera's fate. I really am not bothered about Denmark this year.

I will try and watch MGP live, and if MGP & MF start/end at different times, I will watch MF while I'm waiting for MGP/when MGP has finished.

Do we get song previews tomorrow?

Ola and Linda sound EPIC

here we go :o

Ola - Unstoppable - Natalie's coming back! :o nice link to the past there - this sounds brilliant - I love Ola :D 9/10

Jenny Silver - A Place To Stay - sounds alright, like a low key Jamiroquai production...probably a grower 7.5/10

Linda Pritchard - You're Making Me Hot-Hot-Hot - Sounds like Kat DeLuna - Run The Show's crossed with Ricki-Lee's Can't Touch It...good though 8/10

Pain of Salvation - Road Salt - not at all what I was expecting from their picture (never judge a book by its cover!) - sounds alright - I need to hear the full song though. These acoustic-y rock group ballads have a tendency to do well in Sweden so this will at least go to second chance. 7/10

Anders Ekborg - The Saviour - no thank you...sounds absolutely dire. 2/10

Jessica Andersson - I Did It For Love - wasn't expecting her to do a ballad! Sounds really nice from the clip. 8.5/10

Frispråkarn - Singel - very odd Swedish rap :o would absolutely die at Eurovision but I love things like this  8/10

Salem Al Fakir - Keep On Walking - my most anticipated song in Heat 1, I love Salem - am considering (once again) sending him to BJSC this month in fact :D Sounds really quirky and great as expected. 9/10

aside from Anders Ekborg, all of these have potential in my opinion - really looking forward to hearing the other 7 in full!

Ola - generic but lovely. 7.5/10

Jenny - AWFUL vocals. It' could've been an absolute perfection had it been sung by any other artist :( 5/10

Linda - a mixture of two songs i already know (and as always can't remember which ones, i'm so rubbish at that) but the good ones! Incredibly catchy and cheesy. 7/10

Pain Of Salvation - can't wait to hear the whole thing. I have a feeling they picked not the good bit of this song to place it here 7.5/10

Anders - Malena>>>>>>him. Nice try but nowhere as near as good. 5.5/10

Jessica - This reminds me of SDF last year. I like it tbh. Very generic and cheesy 'come back pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaase i loooooooooooove you my deeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaar' sort of thing though. 8/10

Frispråkarn - OMG. THIS. IS. ANTHEM. PERFECTION. Only female vocals put me off a liiiiitle bit. 10/10

Salem - Shivers down my spine immediately. The voice is so bad though. Mika>>>Salem. Musically this is just a f***ing masterpiece! 10/10

Started off rubbish but ended very good!

Hmm, some decent tracks there. My preference:

---To Globen---

01. Jenny Silver - A Place To Stay I love this

02. Ola - Unstoppable Predictable, but I am a fan of his

---To Andra Chansen---

03. Linda Pritchard - You're Making Me Hot-Hot-Hot It does sound a LOT like Can't Touch It

04. Salem Al Fakir - Keep On Walking Interesting. Kind of reminds me of A cross between The Bee Gees' You Win Again and David Jordan's Sun Goes Down, sung by the guy from Placebo

---

05. Jessica Andersson - I Did It For Love I do like this though

06. Pain Of Salvation - Road Salt Reminds me of Jack Savoretti. It's OK, most bizarre title ever though

07. Anders Ekborg - The Saviour

08. Frispråkarn - Singel Awful

What I think will happen:

01. Ola

02. Salem Al Fakir

03. Jessica Andersson

04. Pain Of Salvation

05. Linda Pritchard

06. Jenny Silver

07. Frispråkarn

08. Anders Ekborg

r.e. Road Salt - never has a song title been more apt for 2010, or should I say (lack of) Road Salt :drama: :heehee: I think your predictions look accurate Ghosty - Ola's practically a given for the final, I think it will be between Salem and Pain of Salvation for the other direct ticket
I'm not going to listen before the actually show tomorrow :)

Ola & Jessica through to the final please :) Don't really care who goes to the second-chance. There is certainly no "Empty Room" or "Hero" (or "Waterloo" or even "The Loving Kind", oh and "Lay Your Love On Me") in the first heat :(

Jessica & Ola are currently top on the ESCToday poll :D Might post the percentages later after more people have voted

the night of doom is upon us - 4 selection shows that I want to watch all overlapping at the same time

of course MF will be favoured but I shall be switching to Norwegian MGP for the results, Danish MGP from time to time, and I'm guessing and hoping that Iceland's Herabjorkfestivalen will be on long after the others have finished - there's probably some urgent live fishing tournament that will delay it by half an hour :heehee:

Thank god the Spanish final isn't on today too, it would run until Sunday  I think I may watch the Danish final tonight, the songs seem better. But maybe I'll have MF open in another window :heehee:

this 'Let Your Spirit Fly Song' is especially great - finished 2nd to Fame in 2003 - as much as I loved Give Me Your Love, I think Pernilla/Jan or third placed Alcazar would have been better - although the latter would have probably got done for plagarising Antique's (I Would) Die For You :kink:

Any chance of ripping/uploading/CD-R please? :kink:
