Damien Adore is an alias of Salem's - same person, but performs occasionally under two different names much like Prince and the symbol

Ahhhhh :) I presume Salem is his real name?

I'm really hoping Sweden don't send Euroschlager again this year - with the weak entries confirmed so far, they have a real chance to do well this year with the right song - we can already count Ola out, I can't see him doing anything other than bottom ten in ESC  Salem I'm not really sure but I do think he would get a lot of UK points - it's very reminiscent of the more experimental side of 1990's Britpop

I expect Darin or Peter Joback will win without even hearing the songs anyway, or rather Eric Saade seeing as Frederik Kempe has written his song...

Surely it's Alcazar's year tho?

only if it's up to the standard of Stay The Night! and very few songs are to be honest - only 8 songs in the entire noughties were better in fact :kink:

Despite being one of my favourite acts, I'll still only support them if I love the song - Maria Haukaas Storeng is one of my favourite acts but I couldn't ever find much to enthuse over about Make My Day :heehee:

I hope Sweden only send a Frederik Kempe song this year if it's more "Hero" then "My Heart Is Yours" -_-

Who's singing the song which has been written by the "Release Me" writing team?

^ Peter Joback (a huge Swedish star) is singing a song composed by both Frederik Kempe and Agnes' songwriter Anders Hansson - sounds like he's off to Oslo already

Peter Jöback is popular in Scandinavia not only Sweden ;)

Salem's the new Alcazar in terms of an act that I like who has gone to huge love in the space of one week for various reasons (MF/Backseat/downloading his album)

absolutely love this song from his album;

I liked the Salem, Ola and Jessica songs.. The rest were horrid..

Salem is very Mika esq..

If you think Salem is Mika-esque wait til you see Neo in Heat 4

It's a song called "Tonight" sung by Johannes Bah Kuhnke (I don't know either) in Heat 3.

Euroschlager? As opposed to what, the American variety? :P

I can't see there being much schlager in there at all...Christer has said there is only one schlager song among the whole lot (I'm guessing Pernilla Wahlgren), and there certainly wasn't anything close to schlager in the first heat, so I'd say the chances are slim.

One thing that's quite obvious this year is that it's all about the men, after a very female dominated year last year. We've already got Ola and Salem in the final, Darin and Peter Joback are certs, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Eric Saade and Andreas Johnson in there either; they seem to be the favourites in heat 2.

I don't know - it was a fleeting comment which doesn't make any sense looking back

Christer obviously wants Sweden to do well in ESC this year and Scandi-Schlager clearly isn't the way to get a good result anymore, it's ok if you're from the East singing Schlager though (Shady Lady, This Is Our Night :P)

yep, I think Eurovision itself will be male dominated this year as a response to Dima and Alexander being the last two years - very odd that it's completely swung - just a few years back female soloists dominated both the contest and the winners list!

the 4 losing songs have been added to iTunes in Sweden (and the UK in fact - shall hold on for the album i think though :P)

Jenny Silver - #7 :o

Linda Pritchard - #43

Frispråkarn - #117

Anders Ekborg - Nowhere!

I think A Place To Stay is the sort of song that needs to be heard more than once really which you don't get the opportunity to in MF unless it goes to second chance...it's a shame when growers crash straight out :(

Jenny :o :o :o So shocked. The performance was really weird though with those hand movements so i'm not surprised it DNQ'd
I loved Jenny's song  I got confused at first and thought she went through instead of Jessica :(
