Posted July 1, 200618 yr A promising musician is critically ill in hospital after he was attacked by a fellow bus passenger. Billy Leeson, 19, frontman of Les Incompetents, was on the number 29 bus in Kentish Town, north London, when an argument broke out over his girlfriend. The couple got off in Camden Road but a man followed them. He then punched Mr Leeson in the jaw, causing him to fall and hit his head. Police appealed for witnesses to last Thursday night's attack. The attacker is understood to have made advances towards the woman, police said. Mr Leeson is being treated in hospital for head injuries, which police described as critical Several messages of goodwill have been left on music community website Drowned in Sound where Mr Leeson is a regular feature. Police said his attacker was white, about 28 years old, with dark hair and possibly an Australian accent. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Det Insp Lorraine Dillon made a direct appeal to his attacker to come forward, saying he may not have realised the severity of the case at the time. She said he had been laughing as he left the scene and may have bragged to his friends afterwards. She also appealed for witnesses, saying: "This is a busy area and people may have been driving past or watching the Croatia versus Australia World Cup match." Les Incompetents were due to play at the Wireless Festival last weekend and one member told BBC's 6 Music: "He's such a nice friendly guy and great fun to be around, so the fact that someone could do this to him is hard to understand." for bio see the indieville area on this very site!!!
July 1, 200618 yr Sounds like a tragic accident arising from a standard fight over a girl, I hope this singer makes a full recovery but I think if he doesn't then the attacker should be charged with manslaughter as I am sure he never set out to kill him but I wish this singer guy a speedy recovery
