Ronnie

Honestly, does Roxy have any redeeming features at all? Im not a huge Peggy fan but even I can sympthise at times but Roxy i genuently hate at the moment.

I love that Roxy is such a cow. Hell, I even liked DANNY tonight. Inter-Mitchell WAR in about three different directions!

LOL digging the square while the ground is rock solid while its snowing.

And I knew that tattoo was a fake, usually they are bandaged over.

Great episode tonight, aside from Danny's relentless pouting. The actress who plays Louise looks very believable as Phil's daughter (not meant nastily!).

Roxy has a new hair do, im still not sure about the whole roxy owning the vic storyline, im not sure how it will all end up plus in my opinion she isnt the matriarch that the vic needs.
Well isn't it quite apparent that she isn't going to be there for good? She can't control her finances, nobody is very happy with her being the landlady. It's obviously a plot device to set somebody else up as the name above the door, or at least that's my view on it!

'EastEnders' wins RTS soap award

Wednesday, March 17 2010, 13:26 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

EastEnders secured its second accolade in two weeks last night as it was named 'Best Continuing Drama' at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Programme Awards.

Yesterday's ceremony, held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, saw the BBC soap triumph over Casualty and The Bill, which were also nominated in the category.

Explaining the reason for their choice, the event's judges noted that the Walford-based serial was "on top form as it approached its quarter century".

Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks had all missed out on being nominated for the prize.

EastEnders last week won the 'TV Soap Of The Year' gong at the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards, which was its first major recognition this year.

Meanwhile, Coronation Street won top soap accolades at the National Television Awards and Broadcast Awards in January.

I'd say Peggy will remain there running the Vic on a daily basis for now. I can see Alfie's return tying into it all too.

Yes i forgot that, i ownder could it be possible that kat and alfie will end up running the vic, id love kat behind the bar again and she could keep Alfie up stairs in the office doing the paper work!!

'EastEnders Live' audience totalled 18.8m

EastEnders' live 25th anniversary instalment was seen by a cumulative audience of 18.8m, according to consolidated figures.

The Walford soap's first ever live broadcast - aired on Friday, February 19 from 8pm - logged BBC One's highest audience since Euro 2004, pulling in 16.4m (57%) for its original showing.

The 30-minute live screening featured the tragic demise of fan favourite Bradley Branning as he plummeted to his death from The Queen Vic roof, before his wife Stacey was unveiled as Archie Mitchell's killer.

The three BBC Two and BBC Three repeats in the ensuing days lifted its total to the 18.8m mark, while BBC's iPlayer received a further 1.1m requests.

BBC Three's George Lamb-fronted spinoff show The Aftermath - which aired for an hour from 8.30pm - put in 4.5m, before its four repeats increased the tally to 11.1m. Online views via iPlayer added a further 0.5m.

John Yorke, controller of BBC drama production said: "The best birthday present EastEnders could possibly have is to know that 25 years in it can still grab the biggest audience in the UK."

He added: "It's a real tribute to the show's creators that a quarter of a century on, everybody's still talking about it."

EastEnders triumphed in the Thursday evening soaps battle for the seventh consecutive week yesterday evening, according to overnight figures.

The Walford soap's third and final edition of the week, which saw Ronnie trying to help a young little girl find her father, drew 8.95m (38.1%) at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile, Gail's court appearance in Coronation Street was witnessed by 8.14m (31.4%) from 8.30pm.

Since ITV unveiled its new drama schedule last July, EastEnders has logged 21 wins to Coronation Street's 13. The BBC soap has topped the ratings for the last seven weeks following a tie in the figures on January 28. Before that, EastEnders led for a further six weeks.

BBC Three's 10pm repeat of last night's EastEnders added a further 805k (4%).

Good to see that it's ahead but ratings across the board really are shockingly low at the moment!
Ya the ratings are tailing off all round which is odd as its ually around May the ratings start dropping, im still delighted thought the overall live episode ratings were very near 19 million, thats absolutly amazing and far greater than any of the fans of team at eastenders expected.

Stacey disappeared - but is back this Friday in a special two-hander with Max.

Casting news - :w00t:

Former Footballers' Wives and Strictly Come Dancing star Zoe Lucker has joined the cast of EastEnders as a new love interest for Max Branning.

The 35-year-old mother-of-one, who played glamourous superbitch Tanya Turner in the ITV football drama, takes on the role of "dynamic and assured" businesswoman Vanessa and immediately attracts the attention of ladies' man Max.

When Vanessa stops by the car lot to do business with Max (Jake Wood), there's an immediate chemistry between the pair and it looks like Max has finally met his match - but it's clear that all is not what it seems.

Speaking of her casting, Lucker said: "I'm a huge fan of the show and I'm really looking forward to working closely with Jake Wood. I've heard fantastic things about the show though friends like Kacey Ainsworth and Natalie Cassidy, so I can't wait to get started."

Executive producer Bryan Kirkwood added: "Zoe Lucker is absolutely perfect for the role of Vanessa. The character is a strong confident force of nature who will play Max at his own game. I can't wait to see Zoe come face to face with Jake Wood on screen."

Lucker is Kirkwood's third signing since taking office at the Albert Square soap earlier this year, having successfully lured Jessie Wallace and Shane Ritchie back to the show as favourites Kat and Alfie Moon.

Lucker begins filming her initial short stint at the soap's home in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire within the next couple of months and will make her screen debut in the summer.

Her other screen credits include Coronation Street, Holby City, sister show HolbyBlue and Bad Girls.
