It might all be too obvious but my theory is now...

Jack as killer. If Bradley actually dies in next Friday's episode Jack will tell him he did it seconds before he does. That way we get the revelation and know it was Jack. Also could tie into the Jack shooting storyline in Spring - Max would be out for revenge when he finds out!

This storyline has been one big mind-f**k :D

Gillian Taylforth has revealed that the original EastEnders cast didn't expect the soap to last.

The actress, who appeared in the show's first episode in 1985, told the Sunday Mirror that producers initially wrote six-month contracts as expectations were low.

This Friday, the BBC One soap will celebrate its 25th year with a special live broadcast during which Archie Mitchell's killer will be unmasked.

Taylforth said: "I remember sitting in the green room chatting to Letitia Dean, who played Sharon Watts, and Anita Dobson, who played Angie Watts, about what we would do once it was over.

"Letitia said she was going back to dancing and Anita said she’d go back to theatre. I'd been working as a secretary and I was a bit annoyed that I’d find it difficult to get back into it because I’d lost my 90 word-per-minute typing speed!"

Taylforth was 27 and still training part-time as an actress at the Anna Scher school in Islington, North London, when she landed the role of cafe worker Kathy Beale.

"When I got the part I phoned my mum and dad and said, 'I’ve got some great news'. I turned up with a bottle of champagne and said, 'I’m going to be in this new show called EastEnders'. My mum and dad’s faces dropped. My mum said, 'Oh we thought you had some good news. That you were engaged or something’," she said.

After 12 years, two husbands and countless heartbreaks Kathy left Walford in 1998. “When I left I took one of her aprons and the wedding ring Phil Mitchell had given her. I've still got them at home," she said.

They should never have killed Kathy off. I can well imagine her still being in the show now.
Agreed. It really wasn't worth killing her off (off-screen too) just to bring back Gay Ben.
I also agree, and im sure kathy would def be back in the show now ha dthey not stupidly killed her off screen and likewise with cindy, it was such a stupid move in my belief to kill cindy off as she is one of the iconic eastenders charactors and i think the same about killing of tiffany aswell.

Eastenders sponsored by Black Gloves tonight!

What a great start to 25 week. Loved to see Pat and the photos.

Poor Robbie. International phone calls aren't that expensive. Surely B could have told him?!

OH - and loved the EE ident :cheer:

tonight was all a bit retro, most of the characters/talking points were from the 90's! great to see Carol back, should add some extra drama to the show as if any more was needed!

Ident for anyone who missed:

I was hoping for a special ident showing old characters like Arthur, Kathy, Pete, Sharon, etc etc

I love the ending with the Black Gloves scenario.

I remember Ian as a 15 year old kid, he is the only character from Episode 1, Dot did leave for a period of time, and she was brought back into the series.

A brilliant start to the week surely. Great to see Robbie back and of course Carol aswell. Loved Biancas line ''Sorry love were already a friend of Jesus''
Carol as bitter and sour faced as I always remember her being last night  her jibe at Pat's in-house bar was a highlight!
I love carol being back and she just fitted in like she never left and the charactor is very true to how she originally played it.

Oh how I pray:

Bookmaker William Hill has slashed its odds on Tracey The Barmaid being revealed as Archie Mitchell's killer in EastEnders.

The long-standing Queen Vic employee was previously one of the biggest outsiders in the betting with odds of 100/1, but she can now be backed at 7/1 following strong support from punters.

Jane Slaughter, who plays the background character, recently spoke to DS about the possibility of Tracey being Archie's killer.

Speaking at the time, Slaughter commented: "I wouldn't think she's that dark but who knows - she could be. I've heard there are odds at the bookies to be had for her but why? Why would she have killed him? Because he's threatening The Vic? Is it The Vic she protects or the family?"

Meanwhile, Sean Slater (Rob Kazinsky) remains the favourite to be unveiled as the murderer in Friday's live 25th anniversary episode. Despite the character's absence from the programme, he currently has odds of 7/4.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams commented: "Tracey would be a serious shock to all, but we are hoping that Sean is proved to be a saint not a sinner, as if he is the killer we will be paying out a small fortune."

could you imagine the reaction if it was tracey i think it would be a brilliant brilliant twist and so unexpected aswell.

Im hopeing eastenders can pull 11.5+ million viwers friday night as there is huge build up to the revelation of who killed archie and the episode going out live.

I would love it to be Tracey! I actually really want it to be now!
