October 24, 200915 yr Robbie has a bizarre chart record in Germany...all of his best songs have done nothing whilst his awful songs have done best...how on earth did Rudebox get to #1 :puke:
October 24, 200915 yr Yan’s German chart comments – Issue date 23.10 (Sorry for not making any comments last week – I’ve been quite busy) Yet another week and another new number one for a fourth consecutive chart. Usually it is calmer at the top of the German singles charts but after Rammstein, David Guetta and Lady Gaga, now it is time for Robbie Williams to claim the number one spot. It would be interesting to see whether he would manage to break the one-week curse and stand as number one for a second week. Now for the song itself. “Bodies” once again proves the superstar status of Robbie in Germany. A status achieved with “Feel” in 2002 and cemented with “Tripping” and “Rudebox”, his two other number ones in the country. “Bodies” also marks the third album of Robbie, whose pilot single reaches the top of the German charts. I don’t know how right I am but I’ve got the feeling that mr. Williams is already a bigger star in Germany and in the UK. “Bodies” marks another milestone as well, as now Robbie has more number ones in Germany than his former band Take That… With the new entry of “Bodies” at number one, Lady Gaga has to fall a place to the runner-up position with her “greatest single ever” “Paparazzi”. Another fact worth mentioning in the top ten is the surprising steadiness of Rammstein’s former number one “p*ssy”, which contrary to all expectations remains in the top five for a fourth week. It’s good also to see Scooter’s “Ti Sento” rising a place to number ten. Now they have a top ten single with yet another album. “Ti Sento” is Scooter’s 42nd single and their 23rd top ten hit. Not much happens in the top 20, apart from the somewhat small fall of Bon Jovi’s latest single to #14 (and it is still on download) and the fact that Nena managed to overturn the initial downward trend for her latest single “Wir sind wahr”. After entering the chart at #28 four weeks ago, going down to #45, the song now climbs for a second week and enters finally the top 20 – a territory where Nena deserves to be… The next new entry comes in at #31 by Cascada and “Fever”, the follow-up to "Evacuate the Dancefloor", which reached #5 some months ago and became one of the dance anthems of the summer. The formula behind "Fever" is more or less the same, which I guess has led to the fading of the song's appeal. Further down the chart at #40 we find a new entry by British singer Gary Go with "Wonderful" - a somewhat late release in Germany and I wonder if the song did not feature in the soundtrack of "Männerherzen" a new movie with Til Schweiger it would have been able to even break the top 50. It's a nice single though. And finally I just wished that the latest wonderful single of Michael Buble  have entered much higher...
