Posted October 24, 200915 yr A lot of artists including, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Rufus Wainwright, KT Tunstall and Gary amongst them have written for this new studio album from Shirley. Shirley Bassey looks awesome and for a woman in her 70's she's got one hell of a powerful voice. Puts other wannabe-Diva's in the shade. October 25, 200915 yr Author Did she sing the Gary song at the Electric Proms? I only saw the TV highlights so I don't know. On the TV highlights also - she didn't sing the KT Tunstall one or the John Barry & Don Black song - and that is the lead single from the album! To be honest ... the ones I heard from the new album ... I didn't like - the Pet Shop Boys, Manic Street Preachers, and another one - were just awful! No ... I enjoyed all the classics - Big Spender, Goldfinger, Diamond Are Forever, This Is My Life, etc! If Gary's song is as bad as the other new songs on the album (and as bad as the one he's written with Alesha Dixon for Alesha Dixon) ... I don't want to hear that either! As I've said ... from the snippets I've heard ... I only like the KT Tunstall one so far. Norma

Shirley has such a personality, that she can carry ok also banal songs and still be pleasant to hear. But it will be nice if Gary's song would be better as Alesha song as from Shirley i want more :lol:

November 4, 200915 yr Author I've just heard snippets of half the album ... its pretty good actually. Gary's song is really good. He's redeemed himself in my eyes .... after that mediocre Alesha effort! Norma
