Slide into oblivion!! LOL, you don't half make me laugh sometimes!

Ego will go top 5 at least, there's no way it won't.

Things are looking so much better for this single. On YouTube alone, the Ego video has been out less than a week and has almost half as many views as the FIO video has had since the August.

I hear it on radio all the time and the chavs love it.

I definatly think it can be saved. If Ego does fairly decently and they manage to get the album sales up to a decent number after the third single I think everything will be ok. Fascination still have Sophie Ellis Bextor signed to them and she hasnt been comercially vibale since about 7 years lol - and say they drop The Sats, that pretty much leaves them with GA and solo GA as the only artists bringing in any money.

Wordshaker is not going to sell the 300k that Chasing Lights has but if it sells up to 100k (or is 100k too optimistic?) then we should see a third album - the label will surely see that with GA not going to last forever and the Sugababes pretty much dying, they have potential here.

The Sats are fine.

They've just signed their book deal and Wordshaker hits Europe/Asia in 2010.

Ego will be Issues. People I know who aren't fans of them actually love it :D

Haven't you been pretty much been saying this for every era/single release etc. and time and time again theyve proven you wrong.

That said, most of you guy's optimism is delusional at this point. "Ego will go top 5 at least, there's no way it won't." Really? there's many ways it can fail to go top 5 or even flop. Like i said before, Wordshaker's not a bad album but it fails to progress the groups sound or give them an identity. I don't really see how this era can be saved unless the record an AMAZING new single and rerelease it.

I meant that in the sense that it's got a brilliant video, they've got a lot of promo planned and there's not much else out that week.

I'm just a bit fed up of having this conversation all the time..

They're not going to be dropped and they're not 'hanging in the balance'.

Like Aled said, Fascination still have SEB signed and The Saturdays bring in quite a bit of money in endorsements..

Tampax, Samsung, Rare to name a few. And of course, the most lucrative deal.. Impulse.

I see their ad all the time. I think they should change the song at the back of that ad to Ego now though.

the girls themselves said that there will NOT be a third album IF wordshaker doesnt sell well, do you think 100k is enough?...

not exactly, i originally said they would be over by this christmas .... so a few months late is close enough, ill be wrong and admit it if they get a third album deal.

ive not yet seen 1 advert anywhere featuring the sats outside record promos...

unless wordshaker is miraculously brought back from the dead, i cant see them getting a third album, ie they WILL be dropped. i dont think the very ordinary 'ego' is good enough. it needs to stick around for ages like 'up' did which may yet prove to be their finest hour. 'ego' is not 'up', fans will like it....those that havnt yet bought the album, but the wider public audience wont. imho.

When did they say that?

They did say something along those lines in a T4 interview I believe :( Surely though them saying that was only an attempt to make people buy the album?

Do you watch the stations that are most likely to run it?

I mainly see it on the music channels and itv2.

And yes, they did say that in the T4 interview, but it was more of a "we MIGHT NOT get a third album"

They didn't say "there definitely will not be a third album if this doesn't sell".

It was Una who said it anyway, she always twists things. She's such a wordshaker..

I always see the Frankie advert on Channel 4.

I'm forever seeing their Impsule ad. Especially on ITV and ITV2 =/

And yes Una's comment whilst obviously theres truth in it wasnt as serious as its being made to sound.

Obviously if an album doesnt sell well the chances of another are reduced!

talk about ironic...

after posting that i hadnt seen them in an ad, within a hour of me posting that they had been on twice!

frankie said on paul o'grady "the dreaded second album, if this doesnt do well there wont be a third" .... i mentioned it at the time only to be told that una said it prior to frankie.

that tells me that the girls are fully aware that their future simply isnt secure, they know the score.

what we dont know is how much profit they are making, because its THIS that will decide whether or not a third album will be made. they will only exist as a group as long as they are making a fair return for the investment made. i might be 'doom mongering' on the other hand those in denial might be being very naive. only time will tell, wordshaker MUST sell more units though, if (as i suspect) 'ego' isnt strong enough to pull wordshaker back then im more likely to be right.

'Ego' is doing pretty well on iTunes, definetly showing signs of being a future hit when it doesn't have hardly any airplay or videoplay! I reckon it'll go Top 5 and boost album sales nicely too. ^_^

I do agree with you but if they are planning a Europe/Asia release of Wordshaker which i think will have the 5 singles from the previous album if it sells enough in those territories a 3rd album should be fine.

For me I'd like the 3rd album in 2011 around July/August time.

I think one of the problems with the 2nd album was it was released far to soon, there wasnt a long enough gap in between albums especially seeing that chasing lights had a new deluxe edition released not so long back. Forever is over was a weak choice as lead single which didnt help the album, and the album was released in a time where alot of big albums were also being released. The saturdays were not one of the lucky ones to perform a slot on the x factor and stars who perform on x factor do take alot of the lime light which turns into sales.

Personnally i think this album should have been left until early 2010 with echo being the lead single and getting a release the same time it is getting now which would have netted the single some good sales over x mas and prob sell a few more copies of chasing lights. Then relase a new single in jan and launch the album, had it being that way i dont think the album would have got lost the way it has, i think i read it has only sold 31,000 copies to date which is so so disappointing and very worrying for them.

Hopefully echo can save the album and future single sell the album aswell, because if that doenst happen they will be very lucky to get to make a third album an dif they do there will be huge pressure on them with a third album to do very very well.

Echo is Girls Can't Catch's next single.

ahh... theres the flaw in my argument :) , i had not taken into account foreign sales and IF they become popular abroad and 'shift units' then they will be 'saved' from the chop dispite british sales. fair play steve.
